Surfing around the internet and found an armored Tacoma offering from Inkas Armored Vehicles. I have no affiliation, just thought it was interesting. No price though. Drove an armored Hilux in Afghanistan, and it performed pretty well with all the extra weight.

This was the Hilux. We had a TLC as well, manual, which I loved.

Is that a Canadian made Colt M4 (or whatever they're called) you're running?

Yes Sir. C7 I believe. My rifle was at the armor to replace a few things, so they loaned me that beast. Heavy as hell but pretty cool.

That optic and hand guard are pretty unique looking, something us Canadians would recognize anywhere lol

Unusual seeing one of those in the wild NOT being carried by a Canadian

Yes, it was either that, or go out with nothing. It was a night op we were getting ready for, so I opted for the C7. We routinely shared weapons sometimes with our RCMP brothers. They loved my Beretta.

Did the Military ever use the Hilux Surf (the other 4runner)?

Rad, I'm assuming no way to mount a peq to those C7's?

I thought I remembered seeing one or two. I'd have to go through all my pics to see if I got any on film.

Nope, no rails. At least with the configuration I saw. There were some C8's out there that did have rails though.

Nice! One of my friends has one here in North Carolina. Before it was imported to America it was used as a medical transport vehicle in Japan and it still has the medical decals on the back window LOL. Toyota needs to bring the 1KZ-TE Turbodiesel to America

Couldn't they armor one of ours? I thought you could send them your truck for the conversion...don't tempt me.

Thanks for sharing OP. BTW what kind of boots and gloves are you wearing over there? If they are good enough for your duty it will suit my weekends just fine!

There are a few companies out there that will retro cars/trucks with armor I believe. I'm sure it aint cheap, but might be a cheaper option that buying a brand new armored pickup outright.

As far as boots. that pic is from early on in my first deployment. I was wearing my issued Altamas. they get heavy real quick. I transitioned into Merrels. Way lighter, and way more comfortable. Same goes with my gloves. Those were the Oakleys with the plastic knuckle guards. I switched to cheapo Mechanix. Did the job just fine.
