I have the same question in mind. Going through the thread again as there is some discrepancies to what actual fits and rubs versus what others feel doesn't?

Thanks Col, I am trying to stay as neutral as I can with my feeling after what happened earlier this month.

A little irony - I just got back from San Antonio (work visit) and was tempted to stop at the plant for a tour. Didn't have time so next trip for work I will add in some time for the visit. I told my sales person I was checking up on my build - LOL.

TRD-Ed, I think I have my answer on tire size. If you are an off-road enthusiast the 285's will need modification. I am personally looking at the 265 75/16 option. Here is what I found out would be the difference from the stock tire size 265 70/16: 285 75/16 KO2 & 3 have overall height of 33", weight of 64 and slightly wider. 265 75/16 KO2 & KO3 are 31.7 in overall height where the 70/16 is 30.6, the weight goes from stock 42 to KO2 50 and KO3 60. The 265 75/16 KO2 has a 50K warranty while the KO3 has none.

I have been running oversize KO2's on my 1999 4-Runner for years and love them. Might lean more towards the KO3 for the Taco but will talk to my tire guy first.

I really don't off road. I'm really just going after a more muscular appearance. I also am going to try and stay under 50-55 pound and an E rated tire. If a 265 is all I can get that meets this criteria then so be it. But if I can find an attractive not overly aggressive 285 that wont rub and doesn't weigh 55+ pounds then I may go that route.

I have KO2's now. They have worn well but have never been able to be balanced correctly. So I believe I'm gonna pass on them for now.
My current choices have been narrowed down to.
    Cooper Discoverer XLT
    Cooper Discoverer at3 4s
    Falcon WildPeaks at3w

I was thinking Nitto Ridge Grapplers. But they may be a little more aggressive than what I was looking for.

I will stick with the OEMs until I need new ones and then look for something a little more aggressive.

Perfect, I think the 285's would work for you then. Everything I read and saw the challenge comes from being off road with crawling and turning hard. Interesting experience you had with the KO2 with balancing them. Maybe it is the wheel size as the 4-Runner is a larger wheel - don't really know, I just have not had an issue. Good luck, I am leaning on sticking with a size where the stock package doesn't need a modification yet I can go with a more aggressive tire.

I may even do the same. The way these trucks look on some of the YouT videos. Stock may be good enough.

My dealership is not sharing these docs but I was informed on Monday (24th) that my Taco went into production 3 days earlier than expected and my delivery dates is currently the 10th. He did add a caveat that it could arrive late next week and he would let me know. We are only 13 hours from San Antonio driving.

Awesome!!!! I love the "6 Gallons of Gas" Accessory.

Mine was built on the 17th, departed the factory on the 18th and arrived at my dealership late on February 3rd. The dealer can track the progress of the train its on. After it gets to the Port (not sure where yours is) they add Port-installed options and then put it on the truck. Mine showed an arrival date at the dealership with a week spread - 3-10 Feb. My bet is yours is reflecting the latest date and you'll see it before March 18th. Mine took 3 days from train arrival at Port to arrival at the dealership.

Of course, adding those 6 gallons of gas may take some time!!!

This is a screen shot of the actual Toyota tracking system. You can see the info they get and that they can actually track the progress o the train.

If I use your analogy. Built on January 17th. Arrive at he dealership February 3rd.
    Feb 3 minus Jan 17 = 17 days.
Mine was built on February 25. So Feb 25 + 17 days = March Friday the 13th :(
    Damn Leap Year.
