I love Friday the 13th!! Have them put a ladder by the driver's door so you can walk under it as you get in for the first time, then break a handheld mirror. Be different. :bananadance:

Ok, then I'm in on the 11th!

My '96 Z3 was built the Tuesday after the Labor Day holiday in Greer, SC by Bubba with a hangover. Seems to have survived the ordeal just fine.

I am impressed, very nice. Of course you don't have any issues. Southern gentleman named Bubba with a hangover - that's a professional...

Didn't mean anything derogatory about that, I had a father-in-law named Bubba, who happened to be a Constable and he took real pride in his work and his free time and never did the two cross. I have always had the same approach with young employees, you can play hard but you better be ready to answer the bell when the time comes. Kind of the way I was raised...

I know some Beemers are build in South Carolina, but I thought the Z3s were built in Germany?

My guess is the Col is kidding with us. Look at the plate, length and style on the fit to the grill. I suspect this came home with him from a deployment - just guessing???

Yes to both. I was joking in regards to "Bubba." I have great respect for the workers at the SC plant. In fact, all Z3s and most Z4s were built here in the US at the plant in Greer. It wasn't until just the last 5 years or so that the Z4s went back to Germany - the Greer plant now builds the X Series vehicles. I did, though, bring my Z3 home from my last tour in Germany - it was built in Greer, put on a boat to Bremerhaven and trained to Wuerzburg where it was delivered to my wife - I had deployed my battalion to Bosnia in September of '96 in support of the Peace Enforcement mission. Shipping to Europe was a whopping $200. It came back with us when we returned to the US in March of 1997.

Here it was on November 11th, 1996, the day it was delivered.

Picked up my AG MT Friday five days earlier than the max delivery date - TRD-Ed I still think yours will be within the next day or two.

Don't you just love it?? I'm still using my Subaru for most travel but had the Tacoma out a few times this weekend - each time people commented how great it looks. I've had it a month and have just over 700 miles on it so far. I still find myself going out to the garage to check something on it out or jus to look at it. I'm pretty sure my vanity plate has been approved and is in process - should have it in a month or so.

I am doing the same thing, other than the 2.5 hour drive home Friday night I have only been adding the small mods and waiting on my tonneau cover and Yakima Rack system to come in. It is so muddy here right now with the snow melting but no where to go as the ditches are snow packed - I just can't bring myself to drive it for fun in that mess - not yet anyway LOL.

This is what our road looks like when it's frozen...now it's a mud track whenever we get any rain until it begins to dry out in late spring and the township regrades it. Once I leave my paved driveway, I have 3/4 mile of dirt/mud no matter which way I go. It's called an "improved" farm road.

LOL, we live in the mtn's and our drive and community roads are all gravel so when the county plows it all gets packed into the drainage ditches. We have had over 82" of snow this season and am just going into our snowing part of the year. I am not complaining as the more snow we get the less fire season we have. Our drive out of the garage almost requires 4-wheel drive after about 1000 due to the melt and mud, I worked on removing some snow piles to help drainage yesterday.
