Army Green thread: let’s keep it green!

I just got mine a month ago (sorry, no pics to add...yet) but I was told my several dealers in the area that Toyota isn't allowing them to order Army Green at all. One didn't have a reason while the other said that Toyota is trying to keep the color somewhat limited. Sounds like complete BS to me, as it's featured on Toyota.com but that's what they're saying. Has anyone else heard anything similar? Luckily, the exact build I wanted was sitting on a dealer's lot about 3 hours away so I drove down and grabbed it as soon as I could.

 

I didn't hear anything like that from my dealer when I called them in mid October saying I was ready to buy. I told the salesman with whom I typically deal, that I wanted Army Green and he came up with a spec sheet on two trucks within a day or so. Granted they were at another dealer a few hours away and in another state. After finding out one was already sold I committed to the other and he made the arrangements to have it brought to the local dealership. I had it within 3-4 weeks, as it was actually finishing up production when we made the deal. I haven't seen any Army Green Tacomas in my area, but based upon this thread, it looks like they are becoming plentiful.

 

Definitely not plentiful in Maine from what I saw. One dealer had one coming in (one I purchased), another local dealer had one coming in (SR5) and one TRD Pro on the lot, and another local dealer had none... Gray all day long, as well as white or black...

 

No I haven’t heard that.
I just asked my salesman mid September if he had any unique colors coming in on the 2021s. He said I’ve got 1 army green coming that’s loaded. I thought about it a day of so and put $500 down. Waited 10 weeks to get it! As far as I know they haven’t gotten another AGDC 4WD.... I’ve only seen them in pics on here besides mine. I have seen several AG sports on the road, 3 to be exact. I believe those are made in the USA. My OR was made in Mexico. Not sure if that has anything to do with anything as far as supply?? They do seem kind of rare at this point. I’m hoping they don’t flood the market with them. It’s nice having the only one in town.

 

My OR was made in San Antonio. Before I found it, my local dealers all found exactly one other OR (also completely loaded) that they could trade for but it sold almost immediately. I was so bummed that it got away, I expanded my search and found the absolute exact spec I was looking for and held it via deposit within 5 minutes. Couldn't believe I got that lucky. Should have bought a lotto ticket too I guess.

 

I love mine. Feel I also got lucky and was able to snag one. Didn’t realize how difficult they were to find. The only thing mine doesn’t have is a made in USA sticker. I was really hoping it would have. Waited 10 weeks not knowing where it was coming from. You’ve definitely got yourself a gem - enjoy!!

 

For what it's worth, my salesman stated all Army Greens are made in Mexico.

 

Not going to sugar coat it ,I hope it stays limited lol I hate seeing 20 of the same colour in my city.

I noticed several AG Tacomas sitting on our local dealer's lot when I drove be the other day. I also have a friend who bought an AG limited here two weeks ago. Doesn't seem to be a shortage here.

Was thinking it’s time to replace or supplement the tundra. Dealer ordered a trd sport dclb for me in army green because my tundra is dark green. I like the truck but I can’t convince myself I’m in love with the color. Some angles it looks good others I can’t fall in love with.

I was Leary myself but then i thought about how I love green grass - and green money.lol ...Why not a green Tacoma? So many different shades depending on how much sunlight is on it. In full sun it almost glows. I’m good with all the non metallic colors that come factory for the Tacoma - cement and quicksand but my favorite is army green. Nothing pops in so many ways than AG! You should see it in the snow!

 

Do you have wheel spacers on their or just bigger tires? I like the look of those tires with the wheel. Another poster put those on his AG Tacoma when the Pro model first came out. Looks great.
