Same. Coming off my last Tacoma this drives and rides like a dream. I loved my old truck but damn if I don't just enjoy driving around in the 2020 so much more.
Looking to bump up to 285s soonish, sliders then just whatever mods I find that are needed as they come up.

The shells are super easy to remove independently to stack tall items. Also u can build rails on top of it and put a roof top tent which is what I intent to do.

The dealer closest to me is putting a premium mark-up on them. I'm getting mine (enroute from the factory now) at MSRP - $750 military rebate. The dealer is adding the accessories I want like Predator Steps, bed lights, bed mat, door sill protectors, tailgate lock, etc for free. He's obviously not paying full retail for those accessories but it does drop my total price below MSRP. I'm happy. He's happy. Life is good.

Not a bad deal considering this is a new pro and we’re only 3 months into the model year! I want to offer the dealer I’m working with about 4-5% off msrp which should be a little above invoice on a 2020 AG Pro with Auto (no options). I’m willing to wait for delivery later this year but I’m wondering if it’s too early in the year to offer this.

I re-read my answer and realized I didn't give full info - I went to a different dealer about 1.5 hours away to make my order/purchase.

It never hurts to make an offer. It all depends on the dealer/location/demand. Remember, though, that AG is a limited production color. The longer you wait into the year, the less likely you'll be able to get it. I've read they go in a 2 month on, 2 month off order cycle for AG. Not sure that's true or not but it seems so given my order experience

In the end, it all comes down to supply/demand - and how much you want the AG. My guess is you'll have more chance in the short term of negotiating on another color before the AG. That may change - and you can even now find unclaimed AG Pros sitting on dealer lots (I've seen a listing for one in VA) listed at MSRP.

For me, it is a matter of getting to a comfort level with what I'm paying. Good hunting!!

My dealer is small town / low volume. It is well known that if you want to order any Toyota, there are no negotiations. You pay MSRP. Considering how much in demand the AG is, if you can get it below, then grab it quick.

I put my deposit down and ordered my AG last week. MSRP plus TTL was $49,473. They allowed me $20,000 trade in on my 2012 Sport. The price I negotiated OTD was my truck and $26,000 or $3,473 under MSRP including TTL.

Paperwork says $20,000 Trade in Allowance.
To me I look at it 2 ways. I paid $3473 under MSRP or they gave me $23,473 for my truck. Or any combination of the 2.

That's all part of the sales technique. At that point, it's a numbers game and they manipulated the balances in a way that didn't affect the accounting, but made you feel like you got a great deal. Why was the MSRP $49K+?

There were no Dealer add ons.
The MSRP was $47,984. That was straight off the Toyota website building the truck.
Doc fee's were $599. Sales tax was $787 and non tax fee's whatever that might be was $102. For a total of $49,473.
I took the deal "in writing" to 2 other Toyota dealerships. Both whom I've bought multiple new vehicles from. Neither would touch the same truck less than $28,300 and my truck OTD.
So yeah, it may be a numbers game. But at basically $3500 off MSRP. And $20,000 trade in for an 8 year old TRD Sport. I think I got a pretty good deal.
