Nice truck. What sliders did you go with out of curiosity? Also, what kind of skids did you get? Did you keep the stock TRD one? Just wondering who makes a tranny skid that works with the stock one:notsure: or if I should sell mine and get a whole new matching set
Here’s my Warfab sliders. Got em linex’d. Very happy with em:cool:

Same here, I just had to clip on the lights and plug it into a relay, pretty easy.

I went with Mobtown for my rock sliders. This summer I bought a welder so I ended up making my own mid and rear skids, which allowed me to keep the stock front skid plate (for now). I had to contour the front of the tranny (mid) skid to match the rear of the stock front skid, if that makes sense. Here's a picture of them (the mid skid is the one on top). I designed the rear skid so the rear supports attach to the Mobtown sliders.

I'll probably end up making a front skid when I make the front bumper so they work together, probably will need to modify the front of the mid skid then too, but that's down the road. My next project is making a rear bumper, which I'm currently trying to finalize the design concept I want to go with.

Absolutely loving all the long beds, both double and access cabs!

Here’s a shot of mine with the new Diode Dynamics SS3 Max’s in selective yellow (shared earlier in the fog light thread):

COL, are those the generic Toyota steps? I'm really liking them. I have a little one that insists on being independent, and as much as I want sliders, I need something with a step for now. Not picking up my truck until Feb, so want to have them ready. Thanks Sir.

Nice work! Looks great. I wish I had the guts/space/time etc. to get into welding. I like the cross bars for more support, and the red! Too bad you don't live closer and I’d have you build some for me too:D or teach me to weld a bit:thumbsup:

Yup - they are the Predator steps. They wont give you the same protection as sliders but work well for those people with short legs, give you a little offset from other doors in parking lots and look a lot more aggressive than normal tube steps, IMHO. I did the same thing as you while I waited for the truck to arrive - had a pile of mods in the garage when it got here. :D:thumbsup:

Stay safe, Marine, and thanks for your Service! Some day, over a beer, I'll tell you the story that led to my honorable discharge from the USMC as a PV1 long before I retired from the Army. True story. :)

Thanks! There's definitely a little bit of a learning curve but it's not too bad. There's a thread dedicated to welding that helped me out tremendously, they'll answer any questions you might have and will provide constructive criticism upon request (and sometimes even when not requested! )
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/anything-welding.113957/

And of course there's the money required to get set up, but it will pay for itself after a couple mods and is a really fun hobby. The cool thing is being able to make stuff customized for your rig. For example, no one sells a mid skid that would allow me to reuse the TRD front skid, or a rear skid that ties into my rock sliders the way it does.
