Ah I see. I inquired about the Costco discount, but the only toyota dealer here that is Costco certified or whatever didn’t seem interested in ordering/allocating what I wanted.

So is invoice the same as MSRP? I have a screen shot of my vehicle and it shows an “invoice” price, which is a couple thousand less than the website MSRP, but wasn’t sure.

 

MSRP was ~46k on my truck, I got it for ~41.

 

What settings / lift kit? looks really good.

 

yeah, im in the fence about selling the truck too. Getting good offers and in the year I own it I have only done 9k miles. so im conflicted

 

Oh wow that’s good! When chatting with the Costco certified dealer, he told me the Costco discount would be “very minimal, at about $1k tops.” But then again, didn’t wanna order what I wanted so didn’t bother.

 

I had a basic procomp 3/1 lift kit. I was looking to get the 6112s but they were out of stock and apparently a couple of months of wait. I guess it worked out for the best at the end of the day. The profit was higher without the extra expense.

 

Same here but the price was pretty straight-forward. They said MSRP or we won't order it. They also agreed to bot charge more than MSRP.

I would recommend getting outside financing approval BEFORE it arrives so it is lined up. Not sure if my daler did this on purpose but despite me askig for status 2 weeks before it arrived, they said they didn't have confirmation of it yet. I thought I would have a few weeks notice. Then BOOM it showed up and I had to scramble.

- Toyota had no finance specials in SoCal so they were quoting me 3.99%
- Bank of America luckily approved me with an online application at 2.25%
- MAGICALLY the dealer finance guy was then able to get me 2.09% when I showed up with alternative financing

Get pre-approved. I feel like I got lucky because I was not prepared for the surprise arrival.

Yes it is. I HIGHLY recommend it. Great company and it works wonderful. Only gripe is when it gets muddy you basically are washing your truck twice, which is more me being lazy then anything.

 

UPS delivered this today - install tomorrow.

 

Ya I’ve accepted the fact that I might be paying just under MSRP ($500 manufacturer discount), but still need to try and renegotiate the “dealer discount” that was originally promised by the previous salesman. I spoke with a neighboring dealer today and he said that both the Costco discount and dealer discounts have been temporarily removed due to shortage.

As far as getting preapproved, I got a preapproval through a local credit union, which I have an interest rate via email, but didn’t actually submit the remainder of the documents to finalize the loan (two additional references, opening up an account with the bank, and a vehicle purchase order, which obviously isn’t available until time of purchase). Is this the preapproval that you’re referring to, or should I actually go through with all documents prior to heading to the dealer?

 

My dealer pulled some shenanigans with me and financing too. When I put my $500 deposit down he said I would have 24 hours to pick it up once it arrived. I told him that I might be on vacation and he said he'll hold it until I get back which could've been a few days after it arrived. Also told him I had received approval from Bank of America and that I would finance with them if they couldn't beat their APR. He said they couldn't go that low (1.99%). The truck wouldn't be there for another 6 weeks, so during this time I told him I'd need a purchase order so I could send it to B of A in order to get a check cut to them. He dragged his feet until the truck arrived. He finally said he'd send the purchase order. I told him that it would take 2-3 days for the check to arrive. He said it had to be picked up within 24 hours and paid for otherwise they'd put it back on the market. I mentioned our previous convo and pressed him on it a bit. Then finally he comes out and sends me the text shown in the pic. I'm a nice guy so I went with them, plus I got mine for a little under 2k MSRP. Fucking dealers.

 

Nice!! I swear. Half the cost of Meso products are in their packaging. Love it.

 

I bought my truck last October. Would have joined TW sooner but was trying to come up with a cleaver user name. I knew I wanted a Tacoma but beyond that I wasn’t too concerned about color or options. The dealership only had 4 to choose from. A white access cab, 2 MGM dbl cabs and an army green TRD OR. So I decided to take the green one.

Did u have the title or was it financed locally so u could get the title the same day? Just wondered how it would work when u sell and have the financing at at a non local bank.

 

Got mine last night, installed in less than 10 minutes. Trickiest part was getting the dome light out of the ceiling. It did not just fall out like @MESO's video. Had to give it a good pull. I think he broke off a tab or two on his lol
Also had to 'punch' the jack nuts into the coat hook slots, they were VERY tight. Just gave a good tap on the back of the jack nut tool. I feel like MESO knew I would f something up so he sent me 2 extra of every piece of hardware.
Got too dark for good pics. But it looks great! And is very solidly in there.

Also got a blue sticker.
