Army Green thread: let’s keep it green!

After paying off my loan the other week, I thought I would start with the heavy mods and such then realized....I'm almost done with all my mods! I think all my gas money I saved from covid went to the mods.

 

I joined the no decal club over the weekend, I gotta say I'm loving the clean look. It was a total pain in the ass in this Virginia heat, but it's done.

 

You’ll be seeing a lot of this shade then….it’s a non metallic paint.
Of course Barcelona Red is a metallic paint and it will sparkle in the sun.
Army Green will glow!

Looks Nice will probably have it done when mine finally arrives. Like those rims I'm really considering getting the bronze trail 16" rims myself

 

Ooh that looks really nice! Thanks for that pic, helps me visualize the Army Green in my environment a lot better. And yeah it totally looks like it’s glowing. Gorgeous. Excited either way for which truck I need up with - sparkling Red or glowing Green both sound good to me.

 

What kind/brand of coating did you do? I’m waiting on a truck to be delivered in the coming month or two, and think I want to get ceramic coating but I’m 100% certain. How did it change the look? Glossier, I assume? And what kind of protection will it provide? Thanks for any input.

 

Wondering about this myself. Are you wanting to do it for the glossier look? Or for paint protection reasons or how it impacted cleaning needs, etc? Just curious to learn more about this

 

This was professionally paint corrected, detailed and ceramic coated with Kenzo 7 year ceramic coating.

The flat look is still there because thats the paint, but theres a shine overtop of it which really makes it pop. It's the paint equivalent of getting a KD Max Protune on your truck. Feels like it should have been this way from the factory.

Edit: To your other question: I got this coating done to correct and protect my 2022's factory paint job. Army Green is a super soft paint and I dont want to wish I had done this and now am scrambling to get it back in shape after 5-7 years of it being used like a truck. It will repel water, scratches, swirls and aging for that time period or I get it re-applied for free. I went with a guy at Elite Auto Detailing here near Pittsburgh, PA because he made my friends 2012 Black 2500HD Denali look brand spanking new with his work. While I appreciate that I could wait maybe 10 years and bring it back to life, I would rather prevent the problem in the first place and buy once, cry once.

I was stuck for a new truck in 2020 early Covid, Dealers were desperate during early lockdowns and I found a AG Pro and got it for close to dealer cost... The Delaer now want to buy it back at a premium in exchange for a 2022/ 2023, I said sure for a new AG... but alas there are no more 2022 in my 'hood and no AG for 2023... I feel like fate wanted me to keep her! zero regrets!

 

I had a dealer already call me about my 2022 AG tacoma haha. I said get me a line on a new tundra in AG at MSRP or we have nothing to talk about!

Can't believe I finally got my dream truck! It's been 10 years of waiting and this crazy market made it finally happen. I bought a Ford Maverick last October for $25k. Then I saw how their value shot through the roof. Got on an allocation list for a Tacoma (3 actually) and was pumped when this truck showed up (about 3 month wait). Ended up getting $33,500 trade-in towards the Tacoma, which I got for MSRP. Still in shock! Already got a bed mat on the way, then next will probably be window tint to match and blackout letters.

When I bought mine in May 2021 there was almost no stock anywhere for new tacomas in my area. I went to the 3rd dealership with high hopes......they only had 2 silver extra cab 4 bangers on the lot.......blah. I walked in the buildong and saw the AG taco on the showroom floor and fell in love. A 2021 trail edition with the dealer add ons...... oem lift kit, trd pro wheels, center console gun safe, led bed lights, roof rack, trd exhaust. I went right to a sales rep and said let's talk......while we were working the deal out 2 other couples asked about that truck and they were told they had to wait to see what we did. Both couples stood by the truck for 45 minutes while the rep and I talked and they got all pissy when the rep walked over with the sold sign to hang on the rear view mirror. It had been on the showroom floor for 1 hour before I bought it.
