For those who are interested. RTT fixed to open from the rear. Much more convenient for those spots with limited side clearance to open it. Plenty of room to work from the tailgate if needed. I’m 6’2.

You guys recommend any good mud flaps?

 

Not the stock ones. I had those and took them off. I was gonna get the REK GENs or Rally Armor (had RA on my WRX); but I ended up liking no mudflaps the best in the end. I realize this is not a recommendation for mudflaps like you asked but the 2 I listed above are some of the more popular ones. I know from experience those Rally Armor ones are AWESOME though.

 

cool thanks. I don’t really do off road except when I go fishing and have to mildly hit some uneven terrain. Just thinking about road dirt and grime. But rekGen seems better than oem for sure. Pricey though

 

Yeah ultimately price was what dissuaded me from buying any flaps, also I like the way it looks without them. I hear ya on road grime but to be honest, I don’t really notice a difference

Couple of nights camping in Vermont this weekend, I bought the Tacoma for camping and this was our first trip with it!

Stopped in Manistee for ice cream cones and a Pup cup!

 

Was finally able to more fully utilize the Icon Stage 4 kit I had installed. Very happy with how it handled on the forest roads. Lots of dips, uneven terrain, and turns that it handled very well, and much better than stock. Was able to go much faster while still feeling in total control.

Took a Spur road at one point looking for a nice dispersed campsite and let a full sized ford go past. This was at about the half way point. Was able to get to the end, turn around, and then catch back up to the truck before getting back on the main road. They were being very careful haha.

Even after loading up all my gear for camping, along with two dogs and three persons total, there wasn't any significant sag with the add-a-leaf. I estimate close to 400lbs back there, which I was surprised by. It may yet settle some though. Only 600 miles with it so far.

 

Installed my RCI roof rack this weekend. Super stoked on how it turned out!

 

Swapped to the red taillights. I think it looks more classic/old school with the Army Green.

 

I assume The Rule also extends to 4Runners?
