While walking the lot today I came across this AG 4Runner I couldn’t resist the opportunity to park my truck next to it and take a picture. D2BD8823-CD15-4C46-BA9C-B7776844053A.jpg

Went out yesterday to see how much snow was still on the road to my long range shooting spot. Got a little dicey being off camber. Back end slid over into some very small birch trees. A bit of scuffing on the bed side, but got most of it out by hand with a microfibre and some rubbing compound.

Today I ordered a Griots G9 to fix the remaining marks lol.

This is a constant uphill grade. Snow was very firm but melting with ice underneath.

Going into the tire shop tomorrow for 285/75/16 BFG AT2, little nervous they will be too big or I will regret going with that size after a canopy :fingerscrossed:

I wish they made a275/75/16 like the 275/70/17 option for 17" wheels.

Yes, but without an E rating. 98% of my driving is on road so I didn't want to sacrifice ride quality.
To get a tire over 32 inches high that was a standard rating and didn't weigh 60 lbs.
I went with 275/65/18 WildPeak's. 32.09 inches high, SL load rating and only 48 lbs.

I use Meguiars Ultimate. I have one of those Plastic wheel shields from Zane to keep it off my rims.
Works really well especially with an aggressive sidewall. Only problem is if you even apply a light coat and let it sit overnight.
It will still sling off on the side of the truck the next day. I gotta come up with a better solution.

Has anyone sold the stock tires locally via classifieds? If so, how much did you ask/get for them? I have 1000mi on mine.

Nervously picked up the truck and drove 25mi to home. First impressions: not as stiff as I thought it would be. You can tell they’re wider and it feels more planted. Big difference stepping on the brake, they’re definitely heavy. Mileage is too early to tell but I was only getting around 15-16 tops anyway according to the truck so I won’t notice it much. Zero rubbing as far as I can tell, need the truck fully loaded.

I had these on my F150 before I sold it and always liked them. I think I’ll get use to them but TRD-ED has a good idea there with the wild peaks. Saves 48lbs of tire, if I don’t like these within the next couple days, I’ll take them back and go that route.

When I was at the tire dealership one of the managers walked by and asked me if I was going to sell the original tires and wheels. I said yes, I was. You interested? He said yes how much? I said you gonna resale them ain't ya? He shook his head yes. I said I make you a steal of a deal $800 bucks. He thought for a second and said I'll take em. I could have gotten more by selling them privately. But I didn't have to touch them after they came off the truck. And the cash was immediately applied to the price of my new tires and wheels.

Open the garage door and the dog tried to jump in the bed with the tailgate up. Scratched the shit out of it, you can’t see most of it in pictures. Any recommendations on how to fix it back up? None is to the green.

    Ugh, I feel your pain!!!

I have several "go to" ways that have helped over the years.

The first is a product called Liquid Lustre. It was one of the original products seen in the first infomercials back in the 80's.I bought some to try and have used it ever since - not as a wax but as a scratch repairer, tar, bug and even paint remover when someone opens the door into yours. As a wax it is mediocre but used properly it will help blend our scratches and take off tar, bugs and paint residue. Be careful on plastic - especially when you have sharp edges because it will take the paint down to bare plastic if you rub too hard.

    http://www.liquidlustre.com/

The second is a product I got for use on my '96 BMW Z3 - infamous for stone chips on the front end. I found that it will also work well on scratches - can make thins perfect again but will significantly cover problems. I bought a kit or my AG Pro not too long ago so I know they have the color - and they are offering a sale right now on their full kit.

Also look into the Ridge Grappler if you wanna step up to almost a 33... I am running 285/70/17 in SL load and they only weigh 48.74lbs and measure 32.76. I have been running them for about 5k miles and still get 19-20MPG on the highway and 16.5 - 17.5 city. They have performed great with everything I have thrown at them already.Snapseed.jpg

I hope you get it to meet your needs. Obviously new tires from Discount, what type and size? Also what did you get from showstoppers?

Making the most of it for now! May get back into an older Yota SUV at some point but not rushing it. I enjoy driving it but the configuration just doesn't make as much sense for me as an SUV does unfortunately.

Showstoppers hooked it up on the wheels. The tires are 265/75/16 Goodyear Ultraterrains from Discount. Nice and light for their size and somewhere between a Wildpeak and K02 on the aggressive/price scale. I'm happy with them so far!
