@Rattletrap66 question for you. I was training on a gym today. 1st Pokemon was a 14** vaporeon then a 16** jolteon. I fought at first with a 14** exccecutor and beat the vaporeon and half of the jolteon but the gym only gained 230xp. Is there a quicker way to level a gym or am I doing something wrong. I tried it a 2nd time with a different Pokemon around the same level and only got 235xp.

 

Yes, you want the CP of the pokemon you're using to be equal to or less than the one you are fighting. If the CP is the same, you will get 500 pts per pokemon beat. Although I have noticed that sometimes this doesn't work for some reason and I have only gotten a little more than 200 like in your case.



"When you increase prestige, it's best to defeat the gym with similar CP levels or, if you can, lower CP levels than the pokemon in the gym. If a gym has 3 pokemon. A level 150 staryu , a level 550 flareon, and a level 700 jolteon, that will be tough to kill with a single pokemon. Using a high CP pokemon won't gain you very many points so it'd be best to take attempt to take out just the 150 staryu with a bulbasaur. You CAN leave mid battle (given that you've defeated at least one pokemon) to still gain prestige."

 

That's what I thought. I used a similar Pokemon to the vaporeon thinking even if I lost during the 2nd battle
I would still gain some xp but only got about 220-240. Tried it 3 different times with the same results.

 

May be the vaporeon for some reason, did you try an electric type?

 

Yeah I tried an electrode level 1*** barely beat him but did. Still only 250xp

 

Just added to the dex, saw him on my nearby at work. Went downstairs and he popped right up, weird.

Didn't make it to Brentwood bc I forgot how far away that was and I didn't have that much time to be away from work. I did hit my inventory loop though before I headed out hunting and a Charmander popped up . I've done that loop dozens of times and never seent one there before

To be fair, I had 30 candies when I got there, but I caught 2 within 5 minutes of pulling in. I then wasted 30min walking around the non paved trails and didn't catch a thing. There was one gym that I took (and am still holding down, so don't touch it) but then as I was leaving I found the other 3 in the parking lot. So, don't waste your time walking around just drive around the lots. There are 7 stops. The digletts were primarily next to the playground near the softball/baseball fields or by the stops near the pool.

 

Hit lvl 22 on my Diglett hunt. Only 100k XP needed to get to lvl 23 . I'm going to try to do it all on a mass evolve, how many pokies can I evolve in 30min?

I'm currently at 40 ready to go and I need to catch 4 more Caterpie to use up all their candy. So that is 44, which would only be 44k XP. Out of those currently on my list, 3 would be new to me. Now sure how much XP that adds. However many pokies can evolve in 30min will be those + more pidgey. Maybe 30sec per evolve animation? so 60 pokies tops? That's still only 60k XP

I'm also sitting on 8 pokies with enough candies to evolve but am holding out for a stronger first gen before I pull the trigger (Mankey, Meowth, Tentacool, Diglett, Staryu, Ponyta, Horsea, and Goldeen). 5 of those would be new to me too but I want strong ones. I have enough candy to evolve a bunch of Psyduck and Slowpokes but am sitting on those until I get stronger ones too.

I'll be heading back out on the magical river trail tomorrow (pokebike was in the shop over the weekend for a tune-up and some new gear) so hopefully I'll find some strong pokies who are ready to grow big and strong and go to work

 

I did a mass evolve a couple days ago and spent the entire 30 min evolving. I ended up with just over 60,000 xp with a couple of the evolves being new additions to the pokedex. I think if you have a ton of pidgeys (or whatever else) lined up you can expect around 60k xp if you are doing it nonstop.

 

I think about 60k is all you can get. We need to get Niantic to get rid of the cut scenes

I made 23 a few days ago and now have 60k into lvl24. That's almost half way.

You will get 1000xp more for registering a pokemon to pokedex if you are running a lucky eggs. I can evolve 60 pokemon in 30 minutes, so plan your new pokemon first so you don't miss them!

 

But the cut scenes are beautiful. I cry everytime
