I'm not sure. When I hunt with @TXSmiley , we both can see the same Pokemon and catch it. However, these are the more common ones. Not sure what it's like on the rare ones.

 

Tommorrow is Evolution Thursday for me. I now am up to 30k+ xp from evolves alone. will also be hitting pokestops and catching pokemon so should make it to lvl17 if the server doesn't crap out

 

I was thinking since you see stronger pokemons as you level up that if I was a level 20 out with a level 4 then we shouldn't be seeing the same thing

 

You both see the same pokemon unless you have an incense and no it will noy go away if one of you catch it. I was at the riverfront park last week and about 30 people all caught a Dragonair in the same spot

Works for rare ones as well unless you use an incense

I think they have a number of catches to them, the rarer the lower catches. My wife and I have had the same ones up and then one of us catches it and the it runs away from the other one.
Just a theory..

 

Negative, the one that runs is just harder to catch

 

You both should be seeing the same things, however the level of the pokemon will depend on what level the player is. Say you're level 5 and I'm level 15, I'll see a much stronger version of the same pokemon in most cases.

 

CP 10 Pidgey isn't hard to catch

That's random in my experience, my brother is two levels higher than me and I have caught plenty of the same pokemon at the same area with a higher CP

 

I've had some really low CPs pop out of a ball before, but usually the ones that run away are fairly strong. Maybe 75 is the lowest I've seen bolt

 

I've had plenty of those run away after they escape the first pokeball. May not be hard to catch but you only get one chance

In most cases lol. The higher your level, you will encounter higher levels of pokemon. Which brings about the debate that it's worthless to use stardust below level 20 since you'll start catching pokemon with their arc's nearly maxed out if not already maxed out.

 

I don't mind it when weaklings run, means they are spooked by a bigger catch lurking in the area

Now what really pisses me off is when a big boy bolts after they chomp up a razzberry and waste a couple of my balls
