New dex catch. Had 3 berries and a great curve ball after i missed a time or two. It was really far away like i had to throw the ball really "hard"

 

Does the secondary Pokemon type have any effect on how much damage the opposing Pokemon does with an attack? I.e. a psychic attack on a bug/poison, would it do double or regular?

 

I've seen both "not very effective" and "super effective" using the same pokie in a fight so I would assume that it's not the type of Pokemon but the attack type that you need to look at before choosing for battle

When a move is super effective (Japanese: 効果はバツグンsuper effective), it inflicts double the damage it would normally do. For example, a move like Megahorn used against aPsychic-type Pokémon will be super effective because Bug-type moves are super effective against Psychic types. This effect can stack up; for example, a Pokémon that is Rock/Ground and is hit by a Water-type move like Surf will be damaged four times as much by the move as a Normal-type Pokémon would be, because both Rock and Ground Pokémon are weak to Water moves.

 

Yeah. That's what I was wondering. I know that Pokemon like exeggutor are mainly psychic attacks. But if you pitted him against a venamoth, would it's psychic attacks still be 2x damage because of that half poison type.

 

I've got an Arcanine with Bulldoze and he sucks as a 'fire type' Eggs smash him on the reg...

 

the only instance where the dual type effectiveness would be negated would be if one of those types is not effected at all by the opposing attack ie zapdos even tho its an electric type which is weak against ground moves, since it is a flying type ground moves don't effect it so there is no penalty.
