No issues. I've put roughly 5000 miles on it now. Just changed my engine oil since I started driving it again after the swap.

Make sure you look it over for anything that might be different or missing, but it should be identical if it's an a750. Mainly an ID tag/sticker, and also a serial number plate that is riveted along the pan seal line on the trans itself. Look for any signs of heat exposure/discoloration on the tq converter. And if you can look in the pan to determine the atf color. It should be somewhere on the color scale of red to orangeish brown. Red being preferable and signifying a healthy and most likely a good usable unit. If it's more on the orange to brown side I'd be cautious about the life it's had, orange/faded red, not so much a big deal, but brown would signify it's been ran at above normal temps for long periods or multiple trips with exposure to temps above 210°F and the atf is definitely contaminated and has lost its lubrication properties. It will also smell burnt or have somewhat of a burnt clutch smell to it.

All of them? Or just the early ones? I've heard/read/seen that the early 2003 and 2004 t4r's actually came with a340's, which are a 4spd and those definitely had a dipstick. I believe the a750 was then introduced in 2005 and it replaced the a340. I could be wrong, it wouldn't be the first time and I've never owned a t4r so I can't speak from first hand experience/ownership.

Not sure about all of them but this one is from an 03 Limited T4r, the only one I have owned. Its definitely an A750F

Fancy!! Wonder if the electronics are compatible with newer versions of the A750. I wouldn’t mind a dipstick on mine. The procedure we have to follow sucks!

    Nice way to turn a 2 hour job into....4-5? I don't know.
I'm going to have to start paying attention to sheet like this when ppl ask me to check out cars with them.

Yeah my ls400 with the 1uz has the starter way back there too. Major pita. Gotta pull the whole intake and I ended up with some custom bent wrenches just to get the starter unbolted without pulling a motor or trans mount to gain more clearance. I decided since I was that balls deep in it, to tear the front end off and do the tbelt and water pump at the same time. Took a whole weekend, Friday afternoon into Sunday night.:bananadead:

I had the wiring pinouts three phones ago, will be re-doing the research sooon. I have the whole donor 4runner and will probably use all the electronics from there.

I'd be really surprised if they changed the solenoid harness plug on the side in the first year. That would be a major hurdle for techs to work around. I bet the internal wiring harness from your old trans is the same as your donor trans. I bought a replacement harness on ebay that came from a sequoia that worked without issue in my tacoma.

    Will an a750f from an '05 v8 Tundra 4x4 swap directly into my '05 v6 Tacoma 4x4?
If not, what has to be done to make it work?
Asking because a friend has one and will swap it for me, but asked me to find out what's involved.
    Please & Thank You.

The bell housing will be different, so you will need to remove the bell housing from your current transmission and swap it with the bell housing on the tundra trans. It’s 4 bolts that are accessible once the torque converter is removed. Other than that I’m fairly confident it will be a straight forward process once the bell housings are swapped.
