    eh, try staying in the tropics for a while. Takes all the spice out of life.

    And well something has to be going right to make the money more valuable, if nothing else than not doing something the US did. For the entire time I was growing up.. canadian dollars 1.25 to the dollar. Though interesting, we still took canadian coinage as american in northern states. Tried to pass a canadian nickel at the store a while ago, yea.. the lady almost called the cops.

    i wished i lived in the tropics sometimes but there isnt any snowmobiling or hockey.
    last year i was down in vegas and i accidently pulled out $20 canadian and she looked at me like i fell out of the sky.

    That'll happen. Border states not a big deal, down as far as maybe massachusetts. But yea, LV.. faghetaboutit.

    I am quite sure that year round warmth makes people stupid. You can find your own examples quite readily.

    no even border states its a big deal. before christmas i was in fargo and i gave the salvation army girls a $5 and they were pretty pumped.

    hmm which states? I mean, I traveled to canada (quebec, granby) all the time growing up, passed assortments of currency all the time. Even banks took anything 25 cents or smaller.

    Yea, can't say I have any experience out there, been to minnesota once and neither of the other.

    50s.. pff.. that was 70s to early 90s. In the 50s the iron curtain still fell between NY and quebec.
