    For other members who would like more info on this, the lower mainland (greater vancouver regional district) which is responsible for the high cost of gas have very rigid police officers due to the high number of imported asian vehicles which are not to spec. There is a site called BC4x4 which is also a good source for where in BC you are safe with your mods.
    This is a list of things I know have caused friends tickets and/or vehicle inspection tickets: and these are not all tacomas but trucks in general.

    BHLM- clear instead of orange reflector on side of light.
    tinted windows drivers/passengers/front
    Lift clearance (even though it met inspection heights)
    wheel offset/spacers- stuck out from fender 1/2 inch
    running FOG lights during the day or evening, when it wasn't foggy (yes there are numerous threads about this on other sites)
    tinted tail lights- vht niteshade version with 2 coats
    subs causing noise disruption
    train horn -my friend honked at an off duty cop, not a smart move
    flowmaster exhaust- noise disruption
    Failed aircare emissions due to supercharger install? not so sure about this one though as I don't know the individual personally
    Blue light visible during the evening, apparently the color is illegal

    Now I know many of these are illegal in many states down here, including west virginia. The difference is it isn't enforced like it is in the lower mainland.
