    I voted Orange Crush.

Why? All RCMP and Municipal Data and reports say that the registry is a good thing.

Not the massive spending it's incurred but the idea is an excellent one for police to have.

I'm neutral on it , at first it was a clusterfuck and was WAY over budget , now that it is established and the RCMP view it as important , I'm OK with it .

Were there serious criminal problems before the registry? And now crime is more under control? Guess I should do my own research...how long has the registry been in effect?

Oh...and not surprised on the "CF" and "over budget"...most programs of that nature and size will be at first...from my experience anyway.

Can't imagine it ever happening in the US....talk about a "CF" and being "over budget"...our criminal element is out of control!

All the cops i know have said that it has little to no affect on crime and whats the point in controlling them, as most people that own them are law abiding citizens. Or something along that line.

Personally if i felt like it i could go get a gun right now off the black market its not hard.

The RCMP's official position is that it is a benificial asset to them , that could well be a political statement .

Most people can go out and commit a crime , it's not that hard , agreed .

Like I said , I'm neutral , this is a non-issue to me compared to other things our government should be working on .

IMO if you removed the primary reason for gun crime by legalizing drugs and having government supplies thus removing the mass amount of money that can be made by crime, you wouldn't need gun control. you'd have more cash for health care, less crime, and less expenses for policing. so you could place that money towards other essentials such as infrastructure and education which in theory would reduce the amount of people using drugs in the first place. Also treat drug addiction for what it is, a Mental Disease, not a crime because some people tend to enjoy breaking the law. That's my opinion but it will never happen.
