Next question: why are your speed limits so low? For instance, the 401 in Ontario is 100km/h maximum (62.5mph). For the most part, it's a straight road, well-paved, limited access, passing through rural areas.

Since stuff is so far apart in Canada, I thought people would be in more of a hurry. More like 120 or 130 km/hr.

Also, why do they even bother having speed limits in Quebec?

out here if its a 4 lane highway its 110km/h but you will only get a speeding ticket if you go over 125km/h.

    Canada Eh!
Most of the 401 is 110km/h I believe....however you still wont get ticketed unless you are doing +125. If you wanna go faster just play follow the rabbit ;) There are always tons of people doing 130-140.

I wouldnt be asking a Saskatchewan-ian about Canada. :p haha I consider Sask to be the ass crack of Canada :p Jokes jokes :D ohh Corner Gas.....such a dumb show!

Ive spend my fair share of time working in Dundurn....enough said!

I guess the one upside to Sask is that you can set your cruise control then take a nap when on the highway! Get an alignment first tho...buuut if you do drive into the "ditch" (or field) just drive back out....all the snow gets blown away anyways!

    hehe

Wrong, the 401 is 100Km/h unless it's changed in the last year. It's that low because the city folk have no clue how to drive and multi car pile ups on it are not uncommon.

Photo radars are now legal in Quebec, I believe any vehicle going more than 20km/h over the speed limit will have the pleasure of getting a ticket in the mail.

this is a serious question............. why is that every single Canadian I have met has been extra friendly? I'm from LA, where poeple are generally pretty cold and whenever I meet someone that is completely the opposite, down to earth, cool, happy, etc. they are Canadian. I have also travelled a lot and whenever I meet someone from Canada in another country, they are awesome as well. Is that how everyone in Canada is? Or did I just get lucky and run into the nice ones?

One big advantage is that nobody declares bankruptcy due to medical bills, healthcare ain't free but we pay less than Americans

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
That doesn't happen here. Most people declare bankruptcy because of job loss.
