    Because they tend not to see / care / understand anything that occurs outside of their borders , therefore they have no reference to judge their monopoly on freedom against .

    I will say this , I have met many great American people on this site , many people I would refer to as friends even though I only know them in cyberspace . I would not want to upset any of those people .

    However , if we are strictly talking stereotypically , I would say that yes , on this subject , if you asked the question of US citizens , that they would answer predominantly that the US is the only REAL free country .

    I respectfully disagree. Maybe it's a regional thing and more a-holes with that attitude reside in certain places here.

    That is no way accurate in this part of the country.

    Personally, I have always seen the cultural similarities between Canada and the U.S. as a common bond. That's been my experience anytime I have visited up North or met anyone traveling in the states.

    I didn't say there were no similarities , there are more than not .

    And your regional point is valid , northern Americans obviously probably know more about Canada than somebody in Texas or Florida
