    200,000 won't get you anything but a crack house in the roughest part of the city. A lot where I live is around 350 to 500,000 depending on how close you are to the river. The house on the land is not worth much its all about the land. My house or land was worth125,000in 1991 and now worth 500,000

    i dont know what a firemedic is but firefighters live in houses and i dont know any paramedics.

    ya a guy i know bought a house built in the 60's for more than $300 000. its in a decent neighbor hood but on a busy street.

    My wife and I bought our place back in '95 before prices really went nuts .

    We paid $150 000 back then for our 1 1/2 acre lot which had a 900 sqft junker house on it .

    I have since built a new house there

    last year my brother bought a 2400 sq ft house built in 1979 on 3.5 acres 15 minutes SW of Edmonton for $650,000.

    Oh ya , I totally beleive that .

    It's the same thing here .

    An average house here on a half decent lot is about $750 - $900 000 .

    If we hadn't been longtime residents and bought a longtime ago , I would struggle to get a house here now .
