The Vancouver Millionaires jerseys . It's the 100 year anniversary of the Vancouver Millionaires winning the Stanley Cup . I like the unis but the Canucks are 0-3 when wearing them

Traditionally it was a celebration of Queen Victoria's birthday. She gave Canada dominion status (a form of independence) so we celebrate her birthday as thanks. There is a party in Ottawa but other than that it's not a huge deal.

In our area there's fireworks. When I lived in London, Ontario the day was a bigger deal. Here it's similar to a Canada Day celebration with less flag waving Patriotism. Victoria Day is also the first day most people plant flowers since it's supposed to be the last frost day for a good chunk of western Canada. Coincidentally it's also usually the first weekend of camping activities since it's the first warm long weekend.

Hey yall I'm planning a drive up that way and leaving East Tennessee at the end of the month for a week trip up there. I plan on going from Knoxville to Cleveland Ohio. Plan on camping most if not all the way. Going through Toledo to Detroit and com in on that side to London then Hamilton to end back in buffalo ny. After that head back home. My questions are I have a 50 LED light bar on top and two rotating lights on my rack do they have to be covered? Next question is mud flaps I have the read ones on do I have to have front ones. We are going to be traveling around Lake Erie are there any must see stops other than the falls? Any good camping spots along the way that would be prime? I have to have bathhouse, shower, and maybe electric. Any ideas please let me know as this is my first time up that way. Thanks and Cheers

I don't foresee any problems with the lights, nor the mud flaps; just don't carry a rifle in a rear window rack, and be sure to leave your handguns at home. Your route via Detroit, London, Hamilton, Niagara Falls is all city and the 400 series of 4 lane highways. It's a flat and very boring series of four lane highways with no vistas that bypass all towns. It's kinda hard to camp on concrete and asphalt.

You may wish to follow the north shore of Lake Erie instead. It is way more scenic and also offers Point Pelee National Park, an area that contains some very rare species of wildlife.

    http://www.pc.gc.ca/eng/pn-np/on/pelee/visit.aspx

You will find more opportunities to experience some of what you want to do in that part of Canada for the short excursion that you are planning.

    Bon voyage!

    BTW... What's a bathhouse?

There must be a resuscitator bolted to the side of that food truck.

I had a bacon, spaghetti sauce, gravy, and cheese curd poutine in Montreal. Awesome. I love visiting Quebec. We have a true poutineer here now but nothing beats poutine from a Quebec food truck or Quebec poutineer if you do your asking around for the truly good ones. The locals always know where to go.

I know some people who would disagree with you from the Ottawa River valley, but I just enjoy good poutine wherever it comes from. Real cheese curds and gravy on refried French fries. Yum.
