Ok you guys have been great with the boot suggestions. One last thing. Where's a guy gotta go to see the Northern Lights (aurora borealis) if I'm staying in Banff from the 25th to the 29th? It's one of the things I've always wanted to see before I die, and I'm not sure when the next time I'll be that far North is. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

if the aurora is really booming you can see it from downtown Banff. more times than I can remember I've been drunk on park bench just staring into the sky haha. best viewing is away from city lights though for sure.

Sunshine and Lake Louise are now open and definitely will have more runs and chairs open by the time you are here. Are you here in November or December? We are excpecting 5 cm of snow this Thursday in Calgary so Banff should get even more.

Next time you visit and if you want to fit in, just utter the following phrase when something unexpected happens:

    “Well oil beef hooked”

    They’ll think you’re from Nfld.

Great photo! Just looked at where you took this photo, really in the middle of nowhere in the Yukon.
Crazy how big our country is, if you were driving south you would be half way down Mexico!
