Ok so I'm trying to finalize a deal.. At one dealership they have a '16 4Runner TP and they are giving me 1k more than another dealership. But the other dealership has th new '17 model. What's the best deal. Ima end up leasing either just want to get more for my trade in. But is the '17 worth it?

The only difference between the '16 and '17 is the '17 are called TRD Offroad and has stitching in the head rest.

    Help!

Im trying to sell my 2014 Tacoma. I posted an ad on craigslist and I got a call from a “dealer” in another state willing to buy my truck. He said he would fly to my location, we could meet at my bank. He then said he would either give me cash or a cashiers check.

I called my finance company and asked what he recommends. As long as i get cash, put into my checking account, pay the loan off, call them immediately to verify the balance has been paid in full, AND get written comformation faxed directly to me (finance company is not local), THEN should i hand over the keys.

But a cashiers check takes a few days to process right? So that would not be ideal at least in his situation having to wait.

But who walks around with over $20k in cash???

Im reaching out to you guys for advice.

Thanks for your comments and replys!

Thinking about a future business opportunity which will involve buying a full size truck. (Hoping Tundra, but may have to look elsewhere...)

I will likely need to have a flatbed. Getting a flatbed on a truck is totally foreign to me. How do I go about finding out if I can order a truck without a box bed. Is flatbed an aftermarket thing? Can I get it from Toyota (or whatever manufacturer I go with)?

Im lost as to where to start on this process.

Tagging Joe because Steve's been gone forever. :(

FWIW I doubt you'd be able to get a Tundy sans bed. Also all the flatbed builds I've seen were either custom built or imported from Aussies... They are not a manufacturer option but there are several companies domestically that produce them for full size trucks.

I've seen tons of flatbeds brand new on dealer's lots.. Unfortunately they were GM or Ford. Each have their own commercial dealerships or dealerships that cater also to fleets.

Don't give up hope though, since most of the time these are outfitted; as in GM and Ford aren't rolling flatbeds out right off the line. I'd stop in one of those dealerships and find out who does the work for building a flatbed. Then from there you might be able to order yourself a Tundra without a bed and go from there.

Just me thinking out loud, I've obviously never purchased a brand-new flatbed truck. Good luck!

    Thanks all!

I was certain I had not seen a flatbed Tundra, but there was hope!
I may buy a newer, used truck to start off with and see where it goes from there. Thanks for the ideas on where to start my searching!!

How do you know if you have limited slip/positraction, or whatever Toyota calls it on your non 4x4 truck? I have people telling me I do and I have people telling me I don't.
