They put up a graphic on the news today that gave the number at 14 flu related fatalities for the Bay Area. That's a lot more than I thought.

14 elderly died this week instead of next week? Shit. Tough beans.

I'd be interested to see the stats on pneumonia related deaths. Bet it's far more than 14.

All that being said. Get your damn flu shot people!!!

They weren't all elderly. There was a 30yo in the mix as well as others.

So far south eastern PA hasn't been hit too bad, just a few inpatients and most of those have been for post viral pneumonia

I think some areas have been hit pretty hard.

Not going to argue about getting flu shots; there's those that should definitely get them and then there's those who have the luxury of deciding if the general recommendations apply to them... but right now the effectiveness of this year's vaccination is in question.

Storm wasn't anything. Just a bunch of idiots that think they can drive normal speeds on ice.

I know how that goes. I live on a mountain and people think they can still drive 50mph when it snows.

I haven't seen anyone lately but I'm sure it's still around. Got a call awhile back for one that sat at the ER for 5 hours and then drove 30 minutes home to call us to take them back. The said we could get them in faster. ER told them they called them 10 minutes after they left. lol

I'm glad I am not currently in the field. To deal with that 12 hrs a day you guys have a lot more patents than I do.
