I understand the whole thing that this guy Joseph smith was "lead" to the missing testaments by god, but their are a lot of guys that say good has spoken to them or god has told them to do something but people call these people crazy, what makes this Joseph guy more creditable from them? Causes he Was rich? I'm in no way putting down your beliefs or anyone's belief for that matter, just something don't add up.

Their are many people out there that say god has lead them to things and EVERY one of them are considered crazy in this society. I just don't understand what makes some people feel this guy is lidgit and others are just crazy

I think tithings are terrible Just my opinion, when ever you have something that is REQUIRED of someone to do and it's monetary it's wrong, if YOU want to give then by all means give. What if your a poor family but have strong religious beliefs then you put a financial strain on that family because of a belief, Most churches if not all is give if you can, and they still have new churches popping up all over the world. The Morman church is run like a business, period, I'm not a Morman but my wife and her whole family is and even they say it is run that way, how can a church be run like a business? Again I'm not putting anyone down, I would just like to know these things

On a personal note, I've never understood why people take others' religious beliefs so personal, is the LDS faith somehow negatively affecting the way you live your life?

Now regarding both of the above statements, I'm genuinely interested in what you're referring to. If you're not confusing LDS with the Fundamentalists(FLDS) and are in fact referring to traditional LDS, who's marrying 12 year girls and living the high life off the church? It really sounds like you are confusing the LDS with the FLDS, as neither of those things correctly reflects the LDS church.

Actually yes. I'm an import and chose to live in Utah so I try not to complain but sometimes it's kinda hard to ignore. Even in park city which has the lowest percentage of lds in the state. I'm indifferent to religious views and people can believe what they want but when you knock on my door and cram in down my throat you can feel free to go fuck yourself. There is very little separation of church and state in Utah. The alcohol laws change every 20 minutes. They need to make them similar to other states. Doesn't help the tourism they so desperately want when people can't figure why the rules change based on time of day and type of liquor license.
