Hot and cold mainly for freeze protection. And to help the water be a little warmer going into the water heater so it doesn't have to work as hard.

Ah yes...the elusive knockout dishwasher plug.

I'm an appliance repair technician. If you have an airgap installed on the sink inline with the dishwasher, then the dishwasher will just drain directly into the sink. Most people do not connect the water puking into the sink to the recent disposal install. A year or so later they will decide they are sick of watching water puke out of the airgap when the dishwasher drains. Trouble is that there is a hose full of nasty ass bacteria running between the airgap and disposal. After a year or so that water will stink very much bad when it's released. This is when I curse the plumbers and their three inches of exposed ass crack. Seriously, call the plumber back to release the stink he created.:D

I'm putting in a new toilet downstairs and the toilet that was there before was raised off the floor with a 1/2 plywood around the bottom. So i didn't like that so i cut off the abs flange and sewer pipe flush with the floating floor and i bought a inside flange. Now the wife wants cushion floor down there so that means i got to cut the sewer pipe again another 1/2 and cut more of the flange off in order to fit. Then i will only be left with a half inch to glue the inside flange to 3" elbow. Will this be enough for the flange to glue to? or should i get some half inch plywood and build up the whole floor level with pipe down there now?

yes I do when you turn the water off and empty the tank by flushing it either use a wet vac or a sponge to get the rest of the water out before removing the tank from the bowl.. It really is pretty easy even as a first times and plumbers charge around 250 each so look at that as savings.

That is rough estimate.. But dont forget your paying for a licensed professional and most people dont want to spend the hassle of doing it their selves.. Hell I get $145 to unstop a toilet and the toilet snake is about $45 at hd
