you guys are lucky in NC...here the cops use "Probable Cause".

 

explain probably cause

 

ive been at a party where the cop just strolled through the door like he owned the place and starts making demands and snatching id's. . . the host, in a drunken stupor said "what the f***! you cant be in my GD house!" (pulls out his phone and calls 911, talks to dispatch, hangs up) looks at the cop and says "unless you got a warrent you can get the f*** out." cop didn't have one, gave the id's back and went away. . . . . .

now for a noise complaint, that would fall under the probable cause neighborhood. thats a gray area the cops love to play in.

and so everyone knows, im not a cop hater. im just a college guy whose learned all the rules.

 

thats usually been the q to start jumping over fences and running through yards.

 

if the officers believe a crime is being committed or has been committed...if they get information a crime is or was commited...they can arrest, search, or arrest from a search.

 

Nothing wrong with knowing your rights.
