I have to say, I have only lived in GA for almost 4 years, and I had NEVER seen an inbred person until I moved here. First one was in Alabama. I'm not saying they don't have them up north, but it was absolutely friggin weird.

 

I'm not from the "South," (New Mexico actually played a vital role in keeping the Confederacy from speading further west, and preserving the Union.) but maybe it's because it's their home and it's something they can identify with it. It doesn't matter who won the war, we are a united country now.

Maybe they just believe in the principles of why the South fought: states rights.
