    Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
    Canada~
    According to the 2004 CCHS, 23.1% of Canadians aged 18 or older, an estimated 5.5 million adults, had a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or more, indicating that they were obese (Table 1) (see What is BMI?). This is significantly higher than estimates derived from self-reported data collected in 2003, which yield an obesity rate of 15.2% (see Methodology makes a difference). Another 8.6 million, or 36.1%, were overweight.

    Among people who are obese, BMIs vary greatly. As a result, obesity is divided into three categories, with successive values representing escalating health risks. People in Class I (BMI 30.0 to 34.9) have a high risk of developing health problems. For those in Class II (BMI 35.0 to 39.9), the risk is very high, and in Class III (BMI 40 or more), extremely high. In 2004, 15.2% of Canadian adults had a BMI in Class I; 5.1% were in Class II, and 2.7%, in Class III (Table 1).

    America~

    According to the reports published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), average body mass index BMI, has increased among American adults from approximately 25 in 1960 to 28 in 2002. BMI is a weight-for-height formula used to measure obesity. Study reports show that the average American man's (20-74 years old) height has increased from 5'8" to 5'9½", while the average height of an American woman of the same age has increased from 5'3" to 5'4". But in the meantime, average American male weight (aged 20-74 years) has increased dramatically from 166.3 pounds to 191 pounds and the average American female weight (of the same age) has increased from 140.2 pounds to 164.3 pounds. Here are some facts regarding average American weight.

    In the last year, the media has referenced studies that cite the following reasons for weight gain in the U.S.

    Strap on your BS goggles for some of these chocolate creamsticks:

    * Not getting enough sleep
    *Tonsilectomy
    *Stress/Psychological issues
    *Advertising (it's McDonald's fault)

    and about 20 other things I can't remember. (must be getting old)

    I'm no dietitian, but how about:

    * stuffing your piehole with food all day and washing it down with 5 cokes...BUT they were diet cokes :rolleyes:
    * getting ZERO exercise
    * video games
    * texting
    * posting on TacomaWorld all day...oops...strike that last one :bananadead:

    You get the picture.

    It's the pussification of America, I tell ya...

    The cup is on a 12 stop tour around Canada , sponsored by Scotiabank , and it stopped in this small town on the next island over from me , so me and a couple buds took the ferry over and checked it out . It was pretty cool .
