In the summer it gets to the high 75-80 degrees here, and in the fall/winter a chilly 75-80 degrees. Don't even get me started on Spring.
    :yay:

But wait... Is Hawaii included in this conversation? haha

    We're Americans :p

Seriously, they gave a small trial to metrics a few decades ago. You know, labeling things both ways and all.

It was never embraced. So it went away.

Most Americans are to concerned with American Idol and Sunday night football. Also much of the mainstream media that people watch are owned by big corporations that work hand in hand with the goverment, so you only hear what they want you to hear. Most Americans are truly in the dark when it comes to how our government operates and what it does to us and people all over the world. But like you mentioned, people we only take so much. The good news is I believe more and more Americans are waking up to reality, and realizing we are for the most part no better off than even those living in places like Egypt. You truly can't be free when you have a government that has the power to search you whenever it wants, monitor your private life, control the markets, take your money through taxation and spend it on what it wants and not on what you want. We decry terrorism, but could care less when it is us going over to foreign lands and killing thousands of innocents and disrupting lives and families. We have to sit back and think about what we want to be as a country. Do we want to be a country that leads by example, to show the rest of the world how great true freedom and liberty is. Or do we want to be the country that forces our "democracy" with the barrel of a gun, and by proping up and supporting dictactors around the world that oppress their people. There used to be a time in our history when patriotism meant being independent and sovereign individuals who knew that governments, even our own could not be trusted. Now too many just follow blindly without thinking. It is the individual American that made America prosperous and the greatest nation the earth has ever seen, not the government.
