i saw last year during the winter olympics where they had the US curling team on the Colbert Report. . . 3 of the players couldn't even touch their toes. . . Olympic athletes that can't even touch their toes lol. thought it was funny. not a question i know, but humorous.

    :D

It rides as bad as it looks. The day my buddy bought it (for $325) six or seven of us all tried it out. Not a single one of us made it around his "track" two full times without crashing/being thrown. No suspension, leaked gas all over you, but runs like a striped assed ape. Old air cooled twin cylinder two stroke.

Yep. They redid the shingles on my roof. 21 square on a 12/12 roof in two days. They have houses.

Lulz. There are some in our area. They are ok people...but they make their own soap...that apparently does not work too well.

The ones here use generators, ride in cars (no driving) and can have electric...just not in the house. :notsure:

They can here for business purposes. They also own vehicles and cells. Again for business only.

We go down to Amish country every year and stay at a bed and breakfast our former neighbors own in Holmes County.

Two years ago we did the Amish Culture Tour. A guide explains the history of the Amish in Ohio and then you get a driving tour to a blacksmith, candle maker, a grocer. We also got a buggy ride, but it was just around a track on their property. It ends with dinner prepared by the Amish family. The Q & A after dinner was really interesting.

This particular family had an addition put on to the house just for large family gatherings and to accommodate guests for the tours.

    Overall quite an experience.

There's a spot like that a county over from me called Roscoe Village...not Amish, but has blacksmith, candlemaking and the like. You can ride a horse drawn canal boat...pretty sweet.

They do here for the most part. It's either farm, construction, or shop owner. Sundays can be a pain when you come across a "buggy-cade"

No electric in this house, and the men were out tending to animals and equipment when we were eating. They came in for the Q&A after we finished.

They still use horse and buggy, and the large room for gatherings had a gas lighting element above the table.

But some are becoming more entrepreneurial. Furniture and construction, as mentioned above, are big industries for many of them.

But I think many have very little contact outside of their respective communities.

Mennonites here are really religious "normal" people here. They have everything we do but the woman have "uniforms" and the men typically where slacks and polo's.
