Not sure what that is but I will look into it.
I have formatted the entire 250 gig hdd several times before but for some reason its greyed out this time and doesn't give me the option. I am just wondering why my external dvd is not recognizing my techtool disk when I boot up and hold the alt tab.
Guess I just need to get a new ribbon cable for the superdrive or throw another hdd in it and start from scratch.

GParted is a OS-independent hard drive partitioning tool that boots from a linux liveCD.

Fixing the superdrive cable would probably help with reading discs, but you can stick GParted on a USB stick.

I have an Iphone/Ipod question I dont know if this has been covered yet or not....My Iphone and all my Itunes are on my laptop. That computer sucks now and I want to use my desktop for my Iphone. However when I plug my iphone into my desktop it will ask me to sync, won't this erase everything on my Iphone? Is there a way I can take pics/music from my phone onto my new computer without messing up my Iphone?

    Thanks

    ok genius...
    jk

    I had a 1st gen. iPod touch.
loved it sold it to my son.
I just got a new 4th gen. touch.
Love it, however it is missing the really nice sounds for the alarms that were in earlier versions...

Where can I get the old sounds and how can I get them on my 4g?

    Thanks.

    Windshield wiper nozzles,
As stated below you synced the items so while the photo's have been transferred to your iphone, they're there because you told your computer to keep your photo library (iphoto) sync'd (iTunes). You can only delete photo's that are on your camera roll as your camera roll are photo's you took with your iphone and are treated as files created by your iphone, and not put there by iTunes.

To choose what photo's you want in your photo library, you need to check the appropriate boxes in itunes while your phone is plugged in. I dont have an iphone at the moment as I'm waiting for my verizon iphone, but if I remember correct, under pictures you have an option to choose whole library or selected folders. Click selected folders, then the photo's that you want to sync with your phone.

Apple Fanatic, I'm sure I could probably give the OP some competition but I'm not worried about it. Here to help where I can.

ok, question for the apple nerd...

for some reason my macbook keeps connecting to the wrong network. I set mine up as the default, but it connects (onits own) to an unsecure one that i guess belongs to a neighbor...I dont like that idea, who knows what they are capable of once i connect to their network...any ideas how to fix this?

    Windshield wiper nozzles,
Did you go into the network preferences>highlight airport, click on advanced>check your preferred networks?

You have to click the arrow on that network and then click forget. You can also make it request to change networks instead of automatically changing it.

Anybody know how to make the auto-correct work on Word? Usually I can just type a word and it will automatically correct it, or put a red line underneath it. I can intentionally type a word incorrectly and it just keeps it likes its correct....

Anyone have any experience using the automator on Mac's? Or an easy way of deleting all of my duplicate songs throughout the computer? I'd hate to click through 1500 songs to delete dups one by one...
