    This ^^.

Just like Microsoft before them, Google/open source has forced innovation. Just look at the 'brand new' notification bar in iOS5, and tell me that isn't straight up ripped from Android.

Not that it's a bad thing, if it wasn't for competition we'd still be on IE6 and not even know what tabbed browsing was...

Hope is hasn't been asked before, I didn't want to search through 15 pages for it. I have an old iPhone that I'm giving to my daughter as an iPod, but it was being used by my son, who has upgraded now. I need to wipe it out and bring it back up on iOS 5. Can I have multiple devices in iTunes to bring this one up different than my current iPhone? I don't want her to have a clone of my phone.

    Thanks
    Scott

On the iPhone 4, is there a way to delete pics from the camera roll but not the sub folders? Every time I delete pics, it deletes them from all folders. Thanks

I would think you would want a different profile/computer to sync it with iTunes.

If you're on Windows, probably easier to just create another user and run iTunes as that user. That way it's a sure-thing...

But I'm not positive how it works otherwise... I'm sure you can set it so it manually syncs everything, that should take care of it.

You can't sync the iPhone/iPod Touch (and i think iPad too) with multiple computers, however you can sync multiple iOS devices on one computer. It's like each device has it's own "profile" within iTunes. If she has her own computer, you might want to do the restore on her machine for this reason. If you want to delete everything on that iPhone and start fresh all you have to do is open up itunes, plug in the phone, and click restore. If there is a newer version of iOS for that device then iTunes will download it and install it automatically or at least warn you first.

BS good sir. I have iTunes on my laptop and my desktop. The phone and the iPod classic get connected to either one depending on my location. Just note that the syncing isn't the same between the two computers in this fashion.
HOWEVER, everything can be all in sync if you use iCloud.

I know the non iOS ipods are no issue.

Every iOS device I've owned has to be synced to one iTunes Library. I don't know if it's changed now, but that's how it was when i had my iPhone 2G. Everytime I'd reinstall windows, if I try to sync again with the new Windows installation, iTunes wouldn't let me and i'd have to erase my iphone to sync with the new library even though its the same music.

I have a 2011 Mac Book Pro with 4gb of ram and after an hour of surfing the web and using ms office the ram available gets down to 20mb, yeah so little it can't do anything. I run a free program called Free Memory to clear out my ram and that doesn't help. I don't run any major programs or videos or files. It happens about once a month or so and kinda sucks.

Just curious for best sites to sell used iPhones ... any ideas ??

I have an iPhone 3GS - 32GB that has had an Otterbox on it from day one and is in super condition. It works on AT&T and I would keep it as a back up phone, but I am now with Verizon.

A bit cautious here about being ripped off by a website not used before ... so any good website names would be most appreciated ... thanks ... :D

Jail break it so you can use it on any carrier and keep it as a back up. ;)
I think jail break works like that

Yeah it's really easy! This is based on my knowledge with Boot Camp that ships with Snow Leopard. I'm not responsible for a messed up computer :p
I have Windows 7 64-Bit running on my MacBook through BootCamp.
1.) Use the boot camp assistant in Mac OSX to partition your Windows drive, It will be called "BOOTCAMP"
2.) Stick the Windows 7 install disc into your mac and reboot.
3.) As soon as your mac reboots (before the grey screen/start up tone) push and hold the ALT/Option key. You'll see the option to start from the Windows Install DVD, click the right arrow key and click enter.
4.) Once the Windows Setup loads, When it asks which type of setup, choose "Custom (Advanced)"
5.) Click on the Partition on that screen that corresponds to the new hard drive space you just made which would be "BOOTCAMP". Make sure you choose the right partition, or else you might wipe out your Mac OS X parition
6.) Once Windows 7 is done installing (your laptop may reboot a few times in the process) and you're on the desktop you can eject the Windows 7 DVD, but the eject key on the Mac keyboard might not work. Go to Computer, right click (Control+Click on the pad) and choose eject. Stick your OS X Install DVD and install the drivers. All the drivers you need will be in the Boot Camp Setup.

I was reading about how in Lion it will give you the option to make a Driver USB stick in the BootCamp assistant, which will be like using the Snow Leopard Install DVD.

It wont help, you're right there. I was surprised myself as to how I could be using up 4GB of RAM with only chrome open, but I read a while back it's because of the way Mac OS X handles running applications and RAM. It will cache things into your RAM so when you open them again, they open instantaneously, and it does this quite efficiently. My MacBook Pro is of the same year with the same amount of RAM. I can photoshop, have multiple tabs open in chrome, with itunes playing music and it doesn't drastically slow down.

yes you can, all jailbreaking is similiar to "rooting" an android device. You'll still have full functionality, while on the iPhone most jailbreaks unlock the phone. If i recall correctly, some require a third-party app from cydia after jailbreaking called Blackra1n or redsn0w. It may have changed now because the last iPhone I worked on was an iPhone 3G.

How would jailbreaking the phone allow it to work on CDMA bands? You obviously have no clue what that means/entails lol...

Yea. Jailbreaking allows you to do a lot of cool things. But it doesn't change the hardware abilities of the device! Jeebus. Next you're going to tell people it'll make it connect to LTE towers too?

Even in landscape mode? Is HQ set? The video might not be high quality, in which case it might not be full screen...

Blackra1n and Redsnow are jailbreak utilities, not cydia apps.

Awesome! That's what it was...Set it to the highest quality. I must have switched it at the airport so it would load faster. Thank you and rep to you! :)
