Yeah Apple is quite picky about that...I had Ubuntu installed on my old macbook and I couldn't get Disk Utility to format my drive as one, or even use the bootcamp utility to partition it as one drive. I just gave up...oh well, its my brother's now lol.

Crap, well I was close...I forget what the cydia app was to get the unlocking done

Good Problem solving lol. I suspected reinstalling Mac OS X would work and allow me to partition my drive the way i want, but I didn't want to do that.

Monoprice is a great site - HDMI cables, toslink, whatever you need... Even bought some 10ft charging cables for my iFon, cuz the dinky little cable that is bundled with the device is a freakin joke.

    iPad question.
Since iPad is Apple I am going to ask the question here.
I have an iPad2 and it's okay, but I can't say that I really love it yet. Anyway, one of the frustrations is that every now and then I will be in an app, or say here on TW, and I will try to open a video in the Funny Videos thread; the app will just close and go to the main screen. Is it a memory issue or what?

I'm no Apple expert, (let's not go there) but I've had this happen on my iPhone... I assume the apps just randomly crash, and since Apple's UI's are so slick they don't even tell you they crashed lol.

I just re-open the app and usually it's fine. I'm used to Android, where when apps crash you can usually sort it out. This world is so new to me... how do you even pull logs? Do you pull logs? lol.

That exactly lol. I have my stuff backed up, but eh reinstalling and putting everything back...too lazy :p. Plus im comfortable with the way my machine is now anyways.

I always had that with my old iPhone. Like someone said, it might have crashed, or the OS closed it to have more RAM available (which I noticed my Android Tablet does frequently it only has 512MB of RAM) Especially if you're watching a video on line, i'm pretty sure that'll eat up a lot of RAM. I know when I'm using the browser and a flash application is running it eats up more RAM.

Mac to Windows is an easy switch :D. Congrats on your new Apple Computer.

Command is similar to "CTRL" in windows, even though the Mac Keyboard has a "Control Key". Commands such as Copy/Paste is Command+C/Command+V

I found that looking for files is really easy through spotlight (the search icon/magnifying glass icon on the top right). The keyboard command is Command+Space Bar

If you like Safari you can stick with it, it's not a bad browser. I prefer chrome. Chrome I believe comes packaged with Flash, and Mac OS X comes with it's own Java, Updated through "Software Update"

Software Update can be found in the Apple Menu (top left). The "About this Mac" is in that section too.

Alot of programs you'll find for the Mac (outside the App Store) will come as .dmg (disk image) or a .pkg (package file). Mac OS X can natively mount .dmg files and .iso and usually inside the dmg disk image you'll find the .pkg file containing the setup of the program.

If you need to run Windows boot camp makes it incredibly easy. It will not let you run Windows Applications within Mac OS X, but let you have Windows Installed along side Mac. Look a few posts above this from me. I don't know for sure about the Mini's, I know with the MacBooks, OS X Lion only officially supports the install of Windows 7. Windows XP can be installed virtually, under whats called a "virtual machine"

If you're on Lion (which you should be), You can now configure your mail accounts in the Mail Application. Previously you couldn't get Yahoo unless you paid extra to Yahoo, now it's free, just like you can on the iPod Touch/iPhone/iPad. I know Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, and Rocketmail (yahoo) work in Mail.

If you don't like the new way Lion Scrolls you can use the old method by going to System Preferences and Unchecking the Scroll Direction. You can also enable right click here. If not right click requires Control+Click.

    Programs I recommend:
Check for updates first in Software Update!
    https://www.google.com/chrome
    http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ (Great Multimedia player)
http://paintbrush.sourceforge.net/downloads/ (Similar to "Paint" in Windows)
In the App Store, Search for "stuffit expander" Very useful expander (handles files like .zip)
Microsoft has an Office Suite for Mac; A Free Office Suite is OpenOffice:

Are you sure that the Fn key on your keyboard isn't depressed? Maybe something is causing itunes to "receive" a "next" command.

iTunes is a great media player, however, try using VLC Media Player. I use it for formats iTunes doesn't recognize or when iTunes won't play something right.

I believe FaceTime requires Wifi...It won't work over the cellular network.

Try connecting to a wifi network and try it then.

    Sorry I should have clarified...

I only attempt to use it on my home wi-fi network. The T-Mobile EDGE internet is only good for checking email lol.

Could it be that it's because you're jailbroken?

    http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/2856

Call T-Mobile and see if they'll help you "activate" facetime...i never knew it had to be activated lol
