I did a bunch of comparisons, and CrashPlan was what I settled on. Unlimited (truly) backup, and it was COMPLETELY cross platform. Mac, Linux and Windoze. Not only that, they have a daemon process so there's a back-end and front-end component. This was a HUGE plus in my book - this way I can have the CrashPlan service running on my Linux server (use it for NAS really, with some other things...) and monitor/change settings using the GUI tool on mah Windoze laptop. Fantastic. Plus - it would allow your friends to backup their computers to yours, and visa-versa for free.

The plans were pretty cheap too, I paid the 4 years in advance - just under $3/mo. Normally I think it's $6/mo. There's family plans too, check it out, http://www.crashplan.com

    Offsite? lol.

    I use both.

On-site is great, obviously... but if there's a fire or flood or some other disaster at your house? All that data is gone, I don't care how many RAID levels you choose :p.

Try running CCleaner. You can get it from the App Store for free.

If you're doing an upgrade, Snow Leopard is the minimum OS you need to have since you have to get Lion from the App Store and the minimum OS for the App Store is Snow Leopard

Not getting Lion from the App Store requires a Lion Jump Drive
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256

If you have Snow Leopard just use the app store method to upgrade, you can make a bootable lion install USB jump drive, but you still have to download lion from the Mac App Store first.

    http://osxdaily.com/2011/06/21/mac-os-x-lion-clean-install-explained/
"Lion requires Snow Leopard to download, but Lion does not require you to upgrade over an existing Snow Leopard installation"

Is there a free program I can download to via WMV files? Also, is there a free version of something like Photoshop I can download? Thanks.

I have the 160g ipod and I want to make a folder and subfolders to that folder in the playlist. ex. I want to make a folder called rush and put all the albums seperately in that folder. I know it can be done because I did it when I first got my ipod ( it was done by mistake because I didn't know what I was doing, still don't i guess), but I can't seem to replicate it again. Do you know how to put subfolders to the folders in the playlist?
    Thanks

I don't understand your first question...you want a downloader that downloads only in WMV?

As far as photoshop-like programs, GIMP is pretty nifty.
