My dads iPhone4 is locked up. For some reason he has the padlock at the top with the arrow around it and his home screen shakes. The screen where it normally says slide to unlock. It won't do nothing. He is old...... Like almost 70 and I am trying to help him over the phone with my mom as a translator! HELP!!! I searched apple.com communities and did a google. No help. Can tacomaworld beat apple's help community?

Is there an apple store near them if so, Have them take it in..

    Or maybe...

Did you have them hard reboot?!?
Hold the home button and power button at the same time?

If not. You have to resort too..
Recovery mode and hope they have the phone backup.

How to put it recovery mode is in a post above. Probably be easier to email them the how to..

    Hope this helps. Good luck

His phone has never been hooked to another computer, so there would be no backup.... I guess if the hard reboot thing does not work I will tell them to go some tech or cell phone provider store and maybe they can figure it out!

    Apple Nerd...

I searched for my question but haven't found much, hopefully you can provide some insight.

My wife bought a MacBook Pro with Lion this summer and they gave us the free upgrade to Mountain Lion because we bought it a few weeks before it was released. Last weekend, I went to a computer auction at a local university and got a good deal on an iMac with 10.5.8. I'm an Apple novice, so at the time I didn't realize that it's not an easy fix to go from 10.5 to 10.8.

I've searched online and it seems that I have to download Snow Leopard (for $30) so I can then download Mt Lion (another $20).

Apple Support mentions that once Mt Lion is purchased, it can be downloaded to multiple devises (I'm assuming from the App Store, which I don't have). Other sources reference being able to download Snow Leopard, Lion and Mt Lion from a thumb drive. Is this easy? Can my wife just put Mt Lion on a thumb drive and I can install it? If so, how? Or can I obtain Snow Leopard/Lion in a similar fashion?

Additionally, I've checked the system requirements for Mt Lion and my iMac has enough memory and free space.

To complicate matters, my wife and her laptop are in FL and I'm in TX.

^^ I can't think of a reason, other than if you don't really need windows 7 it's kind of pointless. OS X is waaay better. IMO.

i just dont want to spend $500 on games when i can pay $150 for win. 7,
i personally can't find anything wrong with putting win.7 on, besides losing 100 gb of space on a 500 gb hard drive

    ok, another question
i upgraded to osx 10.8.2, and rc mini racers and airline tycoon deluxe will not play in fullscreen unless i open iPhoto in the background, when iPhoto is open they both run fine.
    should i be concerned?

    i already re-downloaded the update

Never heard of that issue, are those programs able to run fullscreen?
