I have an iPhone 4S working through bluegrass cellular. (A carrier that DOES NOT use SIM cards) I plan on dropping bluegrass and going to AT&T (A carrier that DOES use SIM cards) What do I need to do to my iPhone, if anything?

Sell it and get an iPhone 5, you can still get good money for a 4s, especially if you might not have upgraded it to iOS6.

AT&T requires a phone with a SIM card to function on the HSPA network, Bluegrass does not require a SIM card because it functions on the CDMA cell network. I think I have that right, someone chime in if I have that backwards.

That is correct. My wife works as a sales/service rep for AT&T. According to her, if Bluegrass is a CDMA network the phone will not work with AT&T's network because the internals are different. If you remember, Verizon (CDMA) had to wait to get their version of the iphone so that would work with their network. If you were coming from TMobile, it would have worked. Your only option is to get a new phone. The 5 is $199-$299, the 4S is $99 and the 4 is $0.99.

Here's a question. Seen any major flukes right out of the box for the Iphone5 or accessories? My charger broke on the very first use. The USB slot was so tight or stuck that the covering popped right off! Obviously I wasn't going to pull by the wire. The Apple store replaced free of charge no questions asked. Pic attached of the defect.

Once you're connected, you're connected it should stop searching. The exception to this would be if, for some reason, your wifi connection was constantly dropping while needing a data connection, in which case it would ask to join another network.

Settings>wi fi> turn OFF ask to join networks. It would then stop searching for other networks unless you ask it to manually

where does it say that? does it only say that when you go into settings and hit wi fi? If so that is normal, it is going to look for other services when you go into wifi settings. When you are locked in to a wifi network on a normal screen is it giving you a pop up that says, "do you want to join x network"

If so I sense something is wrong. My try a hard reset and just see if it is stuck open all the time. When in doubt reboot!

Recently my MacBook charger has been messing up, and I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem. When I go to plug my computer in the orange light that should come on never comes on and on my screen it just says Not Charging. About 15% of the time it will charge but the other times it won't do anything. This is really starting to annoy me, because I plug my computer in at night wake up in the morning and my computer is almost dead just like I left it at night.

that is fine, when you are out of the settings it is not continuing to search, if it is not giving you a pop up to join another network you are fine.

This reminds me of Demitri Martin...he has a joke that goes "I'm a washing machine, not a show-you-how-I-do-it machine." Sounds to me as if everything is functioning as normal...IMO, it's only looking for other connections because you're looking at the connections tab.

Right, it is like is the light in the fridge on when it is closed....are you having battery issues? I posted some battery tips a few pages back. See if any of these things might help you....

One of the things that I have read to help battery life is to do a complete new phone restore. When you hook your phone to itunes and hit restore, when it is finished downloading the software it will ask if you want to set your phone up as new or restore from back up. Restore the phone from new. It will reset all your settings but it did help my phone, and lots of other folks who were experiencing battery life problems.

Another tip is to go to settings>privacy>location services>system services, and make sure all those features are turned to off.

And one more settings>general>about>advertising>turn on limit ad tracking

The two tips above are new features for iOS6, and there has been a lot of discussion on mac forums that these are causing some constant searching and synching, therefore using much needed battery.
