Anyone familiar with the apple Airport Express or Extreme? What im wanting to do is buy one or two to connect to my 2 separate stereo systems that i have in my house and airplay to them both simultaneously from one IDevice. Would this be possible, or would you only be able to play music to one Airport at a time? Also could i use an apple TV (in place of one Airport) and Airplay to the Apple TV and Airport Express?
    Thanks for your help

Why does my MacBook sometimes gives the little rainbow circle and freezes for a little while? Do I need more RAM?

Also, is there such thing as "disk defragment" with the MacBook?

So, I have an early-2009 Macbook (the white one). I am trying to restore it to the original factory settings (running Snow Leopard) and erase the hard drive. I tried doing the holding option thing during restart to delete the drive like I did with the larger drives I had in there before (had a 500gb, then upped to a 750gb, erased those and sold those separately) but it will not let me. Everything I found online says to use the disks that came with the Macbook but I don't remember getting any.

    Ideas?

You probably lost the restore point when you replaced the drive.

You'll probably either need to download Snow Leopard or a newer OS and make a bootable partition from a jump drive (instructions are available online). Then you can wipe the drive and install the OS.

Download iStat Pro for your dashboard and see what your memory usage looks like.

    No

You definitely should've of gotten a disk. The computer has to boot to something other than the drive you are trying to erase.

the snow leopard was just an update. it adds the stuff onto the previous OS's. This is how apple can keep the prices usually at $20. I needed the base level of the OS for it to reinstall.
according to different websites, if I had mountain lion (which I did at one point before I lost everything last year), I could create a boot drive using a free app from the app store (not available on snow leopard). only way to re-download snow leopard is through the app store according to apple (otherwise I'd have to re-buy it). Not sure why they can't see that it is tied to my appleID.

Ended up finding the disks. Apparently my wife decided that there was too much clutter in the box of computer cables/disks and put it in the attic. Just sucks that the money I spent on mountain lion last year is a waste now. I guess I'll sell it with Snow Leopard only.

    Couple of different questions here.

I just installed a pa 15 toy in my truck. Went to my itunes and set up the playlist's named Toyota1 and so on. It synced to my ipod but doesn't sync to my iphone. In fact my iphone has songs on it that are unchecked in my itunes.

Second, we have an old ipod touch, 1st or 2nd gen, not sure. This model is one that doesn't have a camera. We were going to give it to our toddler but it only will upgrade to a 4 point something operating system, therefore can't download any decent/recent apps on this version. Is there anyway around this? I would really like to have it set up like our phones for him to play with so he will stop wanting to play with our phones and causing havoc on our phones.

    Thanks.

This thread seems to have died but I have another issue. Got the iPhone 4s and an iPad mini. When in my home wifi my iMessages would show on on both devices. Now the iPad shows separately as from my email address while the phone shows like normal from the phone number. Is there a fix for this? I've read on the net that this is a bug with the newer iPads but it must be with the newer software update since my wife has the same and not updated and hers still works fine. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Not that it's a huge deal but is annoying since this is one of the reasons to buy the apple tablet over some cheaper options.

Go into iMessage and make sure it's set to send from your phone number on both devices. It's under Settings then Messaging then Send & Receive. At the bottom it says 'Start new conversations from'. That should be set to your phone number on both devices. You can also choose what works with iMessage.
