I'm in for a 1", 20 footer. I am wondering how we will handle payments, are we sending them to you or straight to ASR?

I'm interested in 50' 1/2" recovery rope & 50' 3/16" synthetic winch rope for my Ranger 6x6. Might want two of the winch ropes (one for my hunting partner's rig too).

Anyone know if they'd apply the discount to winch ropes as well? Thanks.

EDIT: OP, if this goes through, we could probably arrange shipping to one address up here for AK bound orders. :notsure:

Although I have not explicitly confirmed the discount would include other items, I imagine we could get that done as well. (the pirate discount covers winch ropes, I just checked)

And shipping to one address for us Alaskans would be fine with me, we already have 3 of us.

BTW, since you are buying more than one each rope counts as 1 of the 16. ie if you get 4, we only need 12 other orders.

My count would actually be 3 (1 recovery rope, 2 winch ropes); although I'll ask my buddy if he'd want a recovery rope too.

I was thinking of going with 30' Length, since everyone seems to be going with 20' length is their some advantage I am not aware of (I like having 10' more between points)?

You get better stretch with the longer rope (less impact on vehicles, 30%x20'=6' of stretch vs. 30%x30'=9' of stretch)

The only advantage of the shorter rope is you are stuck on a tight trail and 30' is just too long.

I might end up getting the 30' as well.

    Disclamier: Personal Opinion here
I would not recommend shortening the length that way. With the amount of stretch these are made for I bet that would get hot, snag, possibly burn/chafe the rope, as well as induce a weak point and snap it.

Also lengthening this with a chain in asking for something really bad to happen. If the breaking point of the chain was reached during the kinetic pull the chain could snap with the Kinetic Recovery Rope (KRR) acting as a slingshot. According to this page (http://www.ascindustries.com/portals/0/pdf/ChainSpecifications.PDF) you would need a 7/8" chain to withstand a 30,000 pound force. (I have a 3/8" chain (most common) for recovery purposes just for comparison. I would feel comfortable using a strap IF it was rated to that of the rope, or higher.

Also, you want a rope rated for the weight of the stuck vehicle. To make an extreme out of it, you wouldn't get the stretch benefit from a 1 1/4" rope pulling a four wheeler out.

    Hope that helps people out.
