I think it would be hard to argue that banning them would not make it harder for criminals to obtain them. And I have not heard of an instance when an average citizen and a crazed gunman gun into a gun battle with ar-15/ak-47 type weapons.

Everyone, if you are getting your facts from the Republicans or Democrats, you are probably wrong. If you are getting your facts from the press, you are probably stupid. This is a good place to start:

Please tell me how? If the average Mexican citizen had access to a weapon, the cartels would be in less power to do what they do.

Mostly all weapons in Mexico are illegal, but somehow automatic weapons get there and used all the time?

No its not. Is it relevant that 2.8% of gun homicides are commited with rifles??

That's cause the American Government, under Eric Holder/Obama, gives them automatic weapons. It part of an ingenious plan to crack down on automatic weapons...

Yes speed limits are irrelevant to gun control. No, it is not irrelevant that 2.8% of gun homicides are committed with rifles. But I would bet that number is significantly higher when looking at instances of multiple homicides.

We need to ban silverware, for it causes obesity. Television, because it causes stupidity. Cars, because they can be driven drunk. I think it's also a good time to ban plastic bags due to suffocation concerns.

So the fact that mostly "assault rifles" are being talked about pertaining to gun control and they are a very low % of actually homicides is not relevant. Color me clueless. So i guess he couldnt have do the same thing with a glock like the VT shooter??

I think they are being talked about because of the undeniable firepower "assault riffles" provide. If such atrocities can be committed with handguns, what could and "assault rifle" do?
