Let me explain the scenario, line for Costco gas, all out cluster, lanes blocked, horns blowing, it was actually quite amusing to be just sitting and watching it. Guy in the grey SUV sat there for at least a minute, it was interesting

It's Fords, they barely made it to parking lot before they died. Did you hang around to see if they needed a jump?

Learn your driving laws. Areas hash marked and bound by blue lines such as this is all available handicapped parking. Handicapped placard properly displayed. What seems to be the issue?

Triggered your PTSD? You drunk again?

    Learn federal ADA regs:
    https://www.ada.gov/resources/restriping-parking-spaces/

For starters, there is an actual marked Handicapped parking spot right next to the hashed line.
"Parking space identification sign with the international symbol of accessibility complying with 703.7.2.1 mounted 60 inches minimum above the ground surface measured to the bottom of the sign."
There was a car parked in the proper, marked handicapped spot (bottom right, you can see just the front of it). Across from it Kia was parked in the unmarked, striped non-parking area.

Second, hash marks are used to mark the ACCESS to the parking spot, not the parking spot itself.
"Boundary of the access aisle must be clearly marked so as to discourage parking in it"
Blue striped areas are not parking areas, they are either van unloading or wheelchair access or parking spot access areas.

Thirdly, that long hashed area is an access route to a larger parallel parking HC spot to the right of it. Spot built to accommodate oversized HC vans or short HC accessible buses (cut-away buses in industry lingo).
Now that HC long spot cannot be used by a longer vehicle.
"Van-accessible parking spaces incorporate the features of accessible parking spaces on the previous page and require the following additional features: a “van accessible” designation on the sign; different widths for the van parking space or the access aisle; and at least 98 inches of vertical clearance for the van parking space, access aisle, and vehicular route to and from the van-accessible space."

In the wild today I saw a wheelchair van with a sticker on that side's window.

The graphic was of an open van door, ramp out with wheelchair on the ramp.

Text was "if you block my ramp I will ding your ride"

Sad it has to be pointed out to people but love the reminder of how the vans work.

The Rolls / Bentley looks to have been able to park in a civilized manner, but the Dodge guy was obviously clueless.

I mean if they would have just backed up in those other spots I would have given a pass, but nooo haha

eeehhhhh, yes they are not straight into the spot, bbuuuuttt they are technically within the "generously spaced" parking spot and (from what I can see) not infringing on others
