It's so hard to resist quoting people who post pics of their rigs from elsewhere on this forum who are trying to show them off, taking up 3-4 parking spaces...

I try not to be a dick about it. Operative word: TRY.

Generally agree except for TPMS. I've had that system alert me to a problem while on the highway, well before even the most attentive driver would feel the difference. Allowed me to get to a much safer spot to address the puncture than otherwise.

Most of these various gadgets are double-edged as you note. Like TPMS; while it serves a true safety purpose it also becomes a crutch for people who don't ever glance at their tires. Still, many of those still never looked at their tires before TPMS, so at least they're less likely to have a blowout on the highway and swerve into me.

Blindspot monitor. I'm adamant that proper mirror aim eliminates your blindspots. Yet it has come in handy when I'm trying to back out of a parking spot at home depot where a couple panel vans have pulled up on either side and some other dickwad is flying down the aisle. Why didn't I back into the spot? Ever load a bunch of lumber or molding into your truck bed while backed in? :D

I live in Austin and damn I hate the ass-in parking on Congress. You have to go passed the spot to then back in which causes a traffic headache. At least with nose first I could see reverse lights on someone backing out.

So much this. I have lived all over Austin but 3 years ago I bought a house on the east side. If you think Austin drivers are bad you need to come east. A Whole new level of IDGAF drivers.

Last note: My biggest pet peeve with society is general awareness, not just driving awareness. People are oblivious to everything around them. Driving or otherwise.

Austin driving skill is leaps and bounds better than San Antonio. Just sayin'.

And don't get me started on the stupid shit I saw in Dallas.

California drivers will redefine stupidity for you.
But a lot of it is perspective, once riding in a car on I-70 in Denver, there were about a dozen other cars heading our direction and we were going 60mph. Driver says, this traffic sucks! LOL.

Come live with the 5 million tourists who visit Yosemite each year.
    They aren't from here.
Have no idea how to drive on hills, mountains or curves.
They are glued to their GPS and half the time, thats wrong.
They're in a rental car. And I have a special hate for those who rent an RV without a fuckin clue.
    Turn out? Whats that?
Stay right except to pass? Nope.
Stopping in the middle of the road at 55mph to take a photo.
Turning right from the left lane.
    35 in a 55.

Then throw in the regular stuff of texting or talking on the phone... Its one giant clusterfuck.

An unusually high amount of pinstriping.
It's probably not as bad as Yosemite, but that is exactly why I don't go to Mt. Rainier in the summer anymore. Even though I am 45 minutes from it.

I agree they suck, but I'd say about average, even in the bay area. Georgia drivers are the worst I've met. Everytime we go on a trip north of Georgia, on the way back I start wondering where all these dicks came from, then I look and the GPS and sure enough we've crossed back into Georgia.

Same for Orlando. I coach junior volleyball and have been to the AAU tournament several times. Every time I dread driving around.

You know how open the lot is at the top. Plenty of room for him to park perpendicular to the spots and not block the lane. This guy clearly didn't give a damn at all.

I grew up in Illinois, DeKalb actually... Not that far from Aurora, I lived in St Charles before moving to Georgia. Hate Illinois! So corrupt and now broke! I'll never ever live there again! I do love Portillo's and Lou Malnoti's!
