I see it frequently at the DD. Tomorrow’s mission is the parent pick up line at my kids school. I see some epic fails every Friday

 

Here's how I shut up 2 climate engineers from Harvard and Stanford at a CalTrans conference when talking about hybrids/electric vehicles, 3 questions that they had zero answers for.
1: How much fuel/emissions and resources are used to mine the lithium to build the batteries and does one offset the other.
2: How much fuel/emissions and resources are used to mine the 25 lbs of rare earth elements used to build these types of cars, and where does the majority of these come from? China. Are these sustainable?
3: What kind of environmental impact is caused in the future by all the strip mining and the chemicals used to extract these elements?

 

What kind of fuel/emissions are used in the production of electricity to charge the batteries?

 

diesel fueled heavy equipment that runs 24/7 365 just to get it out of the earth to build the batteries to start, do they extract coal from the earth to produce electricity? what about nuke power to produce the electricity and the waste left over from that and the equipment used to haul away waste and to mine a shaft to store it in, and what about the fact that the people that drive the hybrids get to drive on the streets that we pay the fuel tax to maintain them.

 

Let alone the petroleum used as a binder in asphalt, the plastics inside the car, etc.

 

That's just straight up envy. take it as a compliment.

I do my best to not park like a asshole, it's a pet peeve of mine. I will be first to call parking enforcement and have ticketed

Waiting outside of newark airport this asshole decided to park in the middle of the road not on the shoulder like everyone else. Peoples thought process blows my mind. How is this even safe.
