Sprayed the rest of the raptor liner last night. Immediately spraying the first bottle it dawned on me that charcoal grey and black aren't very far apart. The first bottle was extra dark for some reason and it looked just like black. second and third bottler were lighter so I could see the difference but once I removed the tape and paper I realized I just wasted 2 days taping and being meticulous when I could have just sprayed the whole thing. Only used 3 bottles for 3 coats on the body part. In the light you can tell the difference but in the dim areas of the garage you cant. Found a few spots where I sprayed black that I need to touch up so I bought a couple rattle cans so I dont have to make a huge mess again but the outside coatings are pretty much done.

Ordered a bunch of 16ga wire last night as well to start on the trailer lights and also a couple more tubes of caulk to finish caulk the inside and seams that aren't welded shut. Need to figure out a way to coat the insides of the unsealed lift tubes with paint so they don't rust out on me.

Trailer is back on its own wheels again. started re constructing everything that was taken off for paint. Got the entire outside and inside silicone caulked to help seal it up from water/dust. Bolted on the tongue box, riveted the vin plate on it, put some rubber grommets in the cabling holes on the inside. Then I put a 1/16" weather seal on the inside of the doors and on the door lip inside. This helps the quiet the closing of the door a little bit as well as hopefully seal the doors up a little more. Cut some rubber for the propane tank mount so the edges aren't as sharp. And finally to round all of that out I mounted the spigot and 90 degree shark bite for the water tank and pump install next spring.

Wiring has begun, took 2 days but I am trying to make it look as good as possible so I don't need to re-do anything. I am running as many wires as I can into looms to give them some extra protection and also to make them look cleaner.
List of things completed over the weekend:
    • Main power board set up and mounted
    • Solar in (for future), power in, and power out mounted and wired
    • Tail and running lights wired and mounted
    • License plate light wired
    • Ground bolts drilled and tapped
    • Interior LED light strips mounted and wires run
    • Axle brakes wired
    • 4 gang switch panel wired and mounted
    • Started laying out relay/breaker panel for other side
    • Mounted the tent and the awnings
    • Mounted the propane tank
    • Wired up the cook table on the rear door
    • Mounted and sealed the water in/out
    • Mounted the rock lights on the sides of the doors for fridge slide
I have a few extra rock lights I was considering running an extra wire down and putting a couple under the trailer but not sure how I would wire the switch just yet. I would love to be able to flip them on from inside the truck but that would require some extensive wiring.

I love how organized it is!

After the rats nest my aux fuse panel has turned into in the engine bay of my truck I wanted to set this up as cleanly as possible from the start so it was less likely to turn into a mess. Yes I made the angled switch panel mount. I bought a 3d printer a few months back and printed a few things to test around with then I drew up the switch panel mount so it pointed at the door without interfering with the first aid kit that will go on that door and the fridge. I also printed the USB/12v plug for the fridge on the right side of the second picture. That one was easier to design than the switch panel stand off.

Finished more of the wiring, I now have shore power, battery charger, interior LED strips, 4 switch panel, 12v charger for the fridge. Decided to remove the fridge cover so it doesnt catch on the electrical panels as its really close but also didn't think the cover helped all that much but we will see how next year goes. Started a list of things I need to finish next spring. Going to be storing it for the winter so I can park my truck inside. That should also give me the space to finally install the 6112's I have had in a box for most of the fall. Also time to replace the stretched ABS wires so I can get ABS back before winter.

Finished my trailer enough to take it on its maiden voyage this past weekend, played it safe and took it to a campground with amenities so if something didn't work well we didn't freeze and have a miserable time. Towed it about 3 hours on the highway going anywhere from 50-75mph and it tracked perfectly straight behind us. Since I don't have it fully loaded it was a tad tongue light (sub 200lbs) but didn't pull weird at all. Once fully loaded I can always fill the water tank with some water to bring the tongue weight up a bit. Tent lift needs some grease on the slides, extendable tongue needs cleaned and at least primered so it doesn't rust in the tongue. Need to put a light switch in the rear door for the cabin lights. Next spring will be the finish of the interior with drawers, water system, and finished electrical. Definitely need some rock lights and reverse lights on it too.

    Looks awesome!
If I ever build one I want to put a diesel heater in it and just run the tube into the tent.

Are you able to post you dimensions and approximate costs? I would be very interested in seeing that information!

The plan for next year is to mount a diesel heater in the tongue box and create a false floor for it to sit under then carry a 5gal diesel jerry on the tongue and do exactly that, run a hose to the tent where it folds in half.

I attached the sketchup file but tacomaworld wouldnt let me upload a skedtchup file. If you download the text file then rename it Trailer_build.skp you should be able to load it into sketchup.

I essentially made it 4x8 with a 3ish foot tongue. Box is almost 3 foot tall and almost 7 foot long of the 8 foot length. I essentially decided on my my drawer height then made it tall enough above the drawers I will be putting in to get plastic tubs on top of the drawers and not hit the ceiling.

Trailer is stored for the winter so now back to wrenching on the truck. Still have the 6112/650lb front suspension sitting in its box I have yet to tackle.

Had my trac and ABS lights come on about a month ago, figured it was a stretched wire from my lift. Took it to the stealership to pull codes and they found 4 codes. Open or short in both front end wires, bad ABS sensor driver side, and a steering column sensor that they thought was weird. Charged me 85$ to hook it to the scanner and read out codes.

Decided I should just invest in a better obd scanner that pulls ABS instead of giving it to a stealership again so I ordered a scanner that does ABS, a new ABS driver side sensor, and 2 new front ABS wires. Replaced the ABS wires, broke 2 bolts I need to remove now, and pulled codes myself. it was still reading all 4 codes. Didnt realize I could clear codes so after reading the manual I cleared the codes drove it for 2 days ABS and TRAC never went away. Pulled codes again and only ABS and Steering codes this time. Finally got around to pulling the ABS sensor and what do ya know o-ring is split open and its all gunky. I must have accidentally sprayed PB blaster near the sensor and it ate the o-ring letting junk and moisture inside. Popped the new sensor in and cleared codes and the lights went away this time and the codes didn't come back.
Now I just need to fix the blower motor wiring and resistor and she's back to a good state

I have the same thing pop up on my dash. But then it goes away.
Apparently it happens now and then after installing a lift. I saw this thread and maybe this is my fix:

I did that reset right after my lift cause VSC was freaking out just in the driveway. if yours goes on and off it may be a stretched or broken connector line. when your shocks bounce the line around it may be connecting and disconnecting a broken line in it. I have read the best way to test the connectors is if you get a voltmeter and test the throughput when the lights are on. Something I didnt do which I should have before spending money on two new lines haha

    Oh good to know!
My lights go on pretty rarely, maybe once every 2 months. Then when I turn off the truck and back on after shopping or something, the lights are gone.

I wonder if its that infrequent if it really is the VSC thing with your truck. I would think it would be constant if it was a bad lead or sensor.

Haven't dont anything to the truck other than clean the winter grime off of it. 6112s are still sitting in the box at the back of the garage. Been too busy this winter with other things to work on it. Hoping I will get some time end of april/may to get them installed. Went and picked up the trailer from storage and brought it home. Need to finish up some wiring that was left unfinished last fall, build some drawers, and maybe set up the water system.

Over the weekend I finally got around to installing the 6112/650lb front suspension on my truck that has been sitting in its box for a long time. Used the truck weight method to compress the springs to attach to the top hat. Getting the passenger side to seat in the lower control arm was the biggest pain in the ass. Replaced the 5100/887 setup that was sagging due to more weight than I ever intended to have when I first lifted my truck. Got about 2 inches back in my lift which was nice but I am anticipating it settling a bit. Rides real nice, much firmer and less nose dive now with the added weight. Finally back to level instead of having some rake and the 650s hold up the armor and winch a whole lot better.

Took the truck out to Wyoming again to visit family, went back into the Greys River range for some trails and hiking. Put about 260ish stone/dirt miles on the truck which was the most I have put on it at one time. That was across a few days going to some of the hiking trial heads and taking some of the offshoots. Went to the top of Squaw (FR 10001), Murphy lake (FR 10002), Porcupine (FR 10017), and South Three Forks (FR 10043). Also went up to the dam on Strawberry Creek which is accessible from the valley but one of my favorite hikes. Porcupine will make you pucker right at the start with a huge lean towards the drop off. Ill try to keep just taco pics here but I do have an insta and reddit account I post other photography (mainly nature) as well, links in my signature.
