    Hey TW!

I am the proud new owner of a 2001 Lunar Mist TRD OR V6 MT. As most you probably know the search was long. I had my heart set on a manual transmission with the TRD OR package. There were other trucks that I almost settled on but I'm glad I was patient. To others in the market be patient and don't settle. The right truck will come.

The goal for this truck is to have a reliable daily driver when I'm not commuting on the motorcycle, haul motorcycles and do some off roading/camping.

    The truck:
    -155k as today
    -frame replaced in 2010
    -timing belt/water pump service done @ 110K
-Bilsteins 5100s with stock springs (not sure what post they're on)
    -hella driving lights
    -tonneau cover
-custom fab mounts for a bike rack
    -OEM bug deflector
    -window visors
    -Michelin LTX AT

    The Purchase

I spotted this gem on FB marketplace. I live in Northern Virginia and the truck was for sale in Central Pennsylvania. I was hesitant to drive NORTH two hour into rust belt territory, even with the frame replaced. The seller was really accommodating, answering all my questions and providing a lot of pictures. He is a fellow enthusiast who replaced the Taco with a 5th gen 4runner and is also into BMWs and bikes. He had taken great care of the truck . My friend Dan @NoVAphotog who has an awesome 3rd gen 4runner (manual transmission with a locker) accompanied me to check the truck out. He is really a big part of me finally pulling the trigger on a Tacoma and has been an enormous help in the search. The truck was way cleaner than expected. I sealed the deal and brought her home.

Here's some pictures from the purchase trip:

    The Plan

-Audio: (has a stock HU) maybe dual din touch screen with a back up camera
    -Armor: rock sliders
    -Coms: CB
    -Tires: more AT aggressive tires
-Suspension: raise 5100s, possibly springs and AAL
-Maintenance: no major items are needed immediately, probably do some fluids for now
-enjoy the hell out of it!

Thanks for reading. I'm definitely open to suggestions and tips. I'm looking forward to being part Toyota Community

Trip Report: Flagpole Knob January 27, 2018

Took my first off-roading trip this past weekend to Flagpole Knob down in Southwest Virginia. It was a blast. I had a shit eating grin the entire time. The trail was fairly technical in some places. Overall, I was really impressed with how the truck handled it all. My friend @NoVAphotog came down with me in his 4runner and we made a day trip of it. Long day but was a great experience.
