I will chime in here just to give my 2 cents. I do have a 2nd gen tho.. I have roughly a 2 inch lift. 6100 up front. The boots on my oem cv's constantly had rips in them from the angle being wrong. There is like a little indent that never goes away and after a while, it just rips there. So people here use special longer boots to compensate for that. They just don't use oem cv's with oem boots. The boots get changed. After messing with multiple sets of cv's, I got extended travel cv and it is a world of difference. No more broken boots and grease everywhere! I don't know why these trucks are soo picky, but they are. I would keep an open mind to the extend travel cv if the oem ones give you issues.

The only thing that stands out to me in these pics are both LCA cam bolts are fully outward, which this would put the CV tripod further out in it's cup. I would think Toyota would've designed some leeway into the design to account for this, but maybe with the combination of the cam bolt position combined with the lift is just enough to allow the CV to pop out? (nearly everyone has their front cam bolt near the middle of it's range, or fairly often, turned most or all of the way inward for max caster)
I could see a diff drop actually helping in this case (but so could adjusting the cam bolts too).

He has cam lock bolts in there, that doesn’t apply here.

Do you run a spacer on top of your shocks?

    Irrelevant.
The bolt is at it's max-outward position.

correct. I have as much Castor as possible
    ,
This does add additional length to the CV, I do have my caster maxed out, this also allows for more droop. It could be the additional Factor that's messing with it.

Max caster is actually when the rear bolt is fully-outward, and the front bolt fully-inward. The way you're set up right now is max-camber (negative).

Not necessarily if you have adjustable upper control arms. I could have been a bit more clear though. I have maxcaster possible while allowing for a good alignment

SPC upper arms simply provide additional adjustments on top of what the cam bolts can provide (and is what allows you to restore the alignment after you lift it). You still can add more caster to that by moving those front bolts inward more, but at the same time it will also add more positive camber. You didn't mention if there's a reason to have that amount of negative camber, but if there still is room to subtract camber at the UCA, then that's something I would try if I was attempting to resolve a CV popping out issue (this for anyone who is still running the stock CV shafts).

Is that 3/4" spacer still part of this equation

Thats my tuck and no diff drop sir.

I was actually pleasantly surprised that my CVs looked pretty much flat with the 2" lift. Forgot to mention that my front end did settle at 1.75", due to bumper, winch and sliders.

Same no diff drop, and they were brand new springs rated accordingly. Bumper, slider, winch, and skids. But the 2tr-fe probably weighs 120lbs lighter than the v6

Got a question for you. So I have Bilstein 6112 coming, thinking about running them at 6/8 (1”) with a 1/2 top spacer to get my 2”. I will be getting 2” Deaver leafs to replace the 2” block. The Bilstein are coming preassembled at 9/11. But don’t want to run them maxed out. What do you think?

I wish i could answer this question but im not an expert on bilsteins 6112s :)

But to me sounds like running any shock maxed out is no good.

I honestly have no idea. But i do know the v6 is aluminum and the 2tr fe is cast iron. So who knows...

Im sure the info can be found on google somewhere.

lol… yeah I believe he was just going by his member status. But a lot of what he was telling me didn’t make sense so that’s why I made this post here, so you guys can help him out. Also I’m getting Bilstein 6112 at 2”, so I really wanted to know what was going on with his truck.
