I agree with you. I work for the dealer also, not toyota. But if something is installed incorrectly, i will give the customer all the information of whats wrong and depending on it. Give them the option on me fixing it (they would have to pay unfortunately)

This x1000. The one right by my house is horrible. They told me they checked the trans fluid, couldn't replicate any of the hard driving issues, etc. and to essentially pound sand. The tech who rode with me stated he felt what I was talking about but then on the documentation it stated "Could not replicate. Everything driving as normal." I took it to the dealership 30 minutes away and they were super great. They fixed every issue I had and topped off the trans fluid stating it was low.

I'm glad to hear other's opinions of dealer service here in San Antonio. I'll be purchasing a new TRD Off Road 4X4 here in the next 2 to 3 weeks. Service means just as much to me as the sale. I've since crossed Alamo Toyota off my list.

Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. You should be able to take it to any Toyota dealer

How much did Valvoline charge for the oil change with the proper synthetic oil?

Yes it can, OP should have taken it to get aligned on his own dime after installing a lift.

A proper alignment would include centering the steering wheel.

Truck has been aligned and was aligned after the lift was installed. AGAIN...this isn't an alignment issue.
Truck did not come lifted. A fox coilover lift was installed after purchase, like so many others do.

^^^ That ... I lifted my truck and took it into the dealership and asked them to do an alignment told them I just lifted the truck. I paid Toyota $129 to properly align my truck and got a free oil change but no lube (I have 5 zirks).

My dealership noted on my invoice that my truck was lifted... did a good job on my alignment.

Sounds like the OP's dealer is not very helpful.

Here's what I did. For my 10K service which does include the oil change, I took it to another Toyota dealer whom is glad to change my oil free every 5K miles. Guess what, at 15K miles my original dealer changed my oil for free this time. Only reason I went back was to get the drivers side A pillar rattle fixed... which was fixed.

Still didn't lube my driveline which is actually scheduled at 15K... tech didn't know I had zirks... told him early model, has all 5... all good I lubed in Nov16 so good until I can crawl under and do it myself (again) once it warms up a little.

I talked with the Toyota service manager about this issue last week when I had my 5000 mile service. They did the rotate and checks, plus changed the oil for $59.99. They only use Mobile 1 and do it for less money than all of the other places in town. I typically use Kwik Kar because it's close by and I've been using them for 17 years, know the owner, etc. But they'll charge me $100 like you.

I am doing oil changes every 5k miles. The dealer and Toyota pick up the two at 10 and 20k. I pay $60 for the rest. Seems like a convenient solution to me.

Never been told that I had to go to the dealer I bought the truck from for service. I also asked them to do my 10,000 mile service at the 5k mark and they did it with no issue. I have always tried to get the original oil out after a few thousand miles.
