Here's the install info. The main difference from how it was installed on the prior owner's truck is the forward thicker plate as I mentioned. They also said no need to remove the plastic bed rail caps, but I'm going with the KB Voodoo caps.

Also looks like they supply bed stiffeners with the Summits.

Roof Racks - I thought I'd revive an old discussion on this thread to see if anyone has new ideas about a rack for an Access Cab. I wish Toyota had provided an easier way to add a rack without drilling, which would have made adding a Prinsu easier. I'd like to be able to mount my WaterPort up there, along with solar, and throw my toolbox heater up there when camped.

I've been thinking of going the prinsu route, drilling the cab, and cutting down the Prinsu, or maybe Yakima with a small cargo basket. Anything else out there that I'm overlooking. Suggestions and warnings appreciated.

I had the Eezi-Awn K9 rack installed by ATOverland in Prescott when I got my habitat installed. They didn't need to drill anything. I was told by the installers that it's kind of hit or miss if the holes are provided by Toyota. I think the model and options on the truck can affect that as well.

It's the access cab that makes the process so difficult - I like your Eezi-Awn K9 rack- what do you use it for?

Yea I didn't realize AC vs DC would affect that so much

Thanks! Right now I store my maxtraxs up there. My goal is to set it up like Expedition Overland. Two aluboxes that flip towards the truck that lock down to the truck and then lock the boxes. I plan on storing gear in there that can stay with the truck and is easy to get to without opening up the back. Things like recovery gear and tools. That leave a small space in the middle of the rack that I'm not 100% sure what I'll do with yet, I'm thinking maybe a small solar panel.

    Example:

I feel like something like that is one of the best uses of the space I've seen so far

So bummed out. Was planning a two week trip but with all of the shit going on I really dont feel comfortable being 15hours + from my home.

Got a few updates to the camper done in any case in prep for the trip.

Box contains 70ah of deep cycle agm batteries, solar charge controller, and six switch/ fuse panel as well as vents for heater

    Before

During(Please excuse the shitty flooring that is getting replaced asap)

    After

Put the solar panel on top of my top box to allow me to have it at a 45° angle when situation dictates.

@excorcist did you cover the pump up with a crap ton of foam to reduce the sound output?

Negative.. it really is not that loud at all under the shroud... if it was I would look Into a way to quiet it down. They have it mounted in some sort of isolator which I'm sure helps. Under the sound of the fan the sound of the pump is negligible for us.

I made the swing out, here is the original post where I kind of explained the process..... #85 in this thread

Let me know if you have any questions!

I do not have any links to anything.. I jut had the idea in my head and made it happen. Bought a Renogy 100w wanderer kit... very easy to install and has everything you need, put four 1/4 x 20 rivnuts in the frame and bolted through the lid of the rifle case. Then put some struts on to hold the lid open. Again if you have any specific questions just let me know!
