I'm officially joining the AT club soon. Not a habitat, but I ordered an atlas last week and this seems to be the only thread on TW with any AT information. I'm super excited for the camper though and I'm sure I'll have questions for all you guys that have already dealt with them.

That's my plan. We usually take a summer trip up through Colorado, Utah and Idaho so hopefully the timing works out to where we hit Arizona before we head north.

Sooooo... I need to mount a fly rod holder on my habitat, that means drilling into the top and mounting some sort of rack. How are you guys drilling/riviting sealing things to this bad boy? also, any regrets with top mounted? (yes it will still fold open)

What kind of options did you order for your Atlas ? and did they quote you an estimated build time until completion?

An l track system up there offers alot of modularity...

Easy to mount using 1/4 x 20 "nutserts" and using closed cell neoprene foam on back of l track to seal. It up.

It was one of the first things I did on my habitat and have had 0 issues with leaks. I posted pics earlier in this thread of the process.

How would you feel about adding post subjects within the thread, and their links to the first post?

That way anyone can click on posts that someone did x or y for ideas.

Curious what would be the lowest profile setup so the truck can still fit in the garage?

    Garage door is only 82"

I have been meaning to put something like that together on the first or second post in this thread. A list of resources people can click on to direct them to posts within the thread.

Maybe a list of things like

"maintenance" with seasoning tent, how to recoat the raw aluminum, cleaning mattress, etc...

"Replacement parts" like the specs for rear struts, hardware, etc...

Then maybe a bunch of "mods" can be there own sections like adding l track, carpeting interior, different options/locations for mounting support poles, interior build outs, mattress replacements etc...

Is that kind of what you are talking about or not at all?

If anyone else has ideas I'd love to hear them.

Fitting in any garage door under 8’ is gonna be tight, especially if you are lifted with bigger tires.

    I'm assuming you're asking me??

But I ordered the front slider window, roof hatch and I added a fan also. No rear window or side hatches.

Before I ordered they estimated about 14-16 weeks, but they never gave me an actual date.

Yeah, I'm on 255/85R16 with a 3 inch lift. The James Baroud tent cleared just fine, but it was tucked behind the cab. I'd be fine if it only cleared by 1/4".

How has the heater worked out for you? Any issues with reliability or anything?
How did you route the exhaust?
Is it pretty efficient as far as fuel consumption and power draw?

Hey sorry just realized I never responded to this.

I have only used the heater on a few trips, but have been absolutely loving it. Always fires right up no issues as far as that goes. I routed the intake and exhaust out of the cubby hole above the wheel well which worked great because you do not have to drill a hole in your bed or camper. It is WAAYY more efficient than I anticipated in terms of power draw, uses VERY little battery to run, fuel consumption is great too. It is definitely one of the things I wish I would have done earlier. The warm dry air is hugely beneficial during cold nights.

Awesome, thanks for the insight. We ran a Mr buddy in our Go Fast Camper and the condensation was out of control, even with the fan running on low. I'll definitely be adding one when we get the camper. I also have a Renogy 200 ah battery going in as part of my dual battery setup with solar so power consumption shouldn't be an issue.

Are you running the 5kw or the 8kw?

Yeah we had the Mr buddy before too and condensation was a huge issue.... I have the 5kw.

That's the one I think I'm going to run. I've read to go with a smaller unit over a larger one so you get a little hotter/cleaner burn and prevent soot buildup.
