All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I have been trying to make that call myself. Having a RCSB 4wd Tundra, I am itching to stick something on it vs the taco.

It’s turned out pretty much perfect. I was getting an inch or more of sag and you’d notice it a bit. With these it feels just like it did stock and put me back to factory height or maybe slightly higher

Anyone have an AT ATLAS setup. I know on the website says they’ll start production January 2020 but haven’t seen any others than the picture of the RAM1500. Thinking of getting one for my ‘14 DCLB. Does anyone know if they have a stimulus sale like other retailers because of what’s happening in the world? Thanks everyone.

How did you spec out your ATLAS and what you pay. Thinking about ordering one too. Was Janine that one that helped you out?

I am having it built with the front slider window, roof hatch, L track and I had them add a fantastic fan and a solar pass through kit on the roof.

I can't remember exactly what I paid, but it was exactly the same prices they have listed on their website. As far as promotions, they were running a free install, which saved me about $500. Tax was a killer though.

And yeah, I have dealt with Janine the entire time. She is really patient and helpful when trying to get everything spec'd out.

That’s my biggest complaint, taxes in AZ are killer. I worked with Janine when I got my habitat.

Yeah, I think I paid just over $1,000 in taxes that I didn't plan for when building it. But it will be worth it when it's done I'm sure.

I also made it out for some camping over the weekend. Just an overnite.

Was also the first trip out with the finished water system. Didn't even hook up the propane this trip. Perfect for washing the dishes, and with the heater going will be some nice showers in the future on longer trips.

Absolutely, Hab + sxs is a pretty good exploring platform.

I wanna head down to the Paiute again now that I have the Habitat. My wife thinks we should leave the sxs at home though. Plenty of exploring we could do with the truck.

I hear ya. Definitely nicer traveling sans trailer, but it is also nice putting up habitat and making a dedicated camp setup and being able to take off for the day in sxs. We just picked it up and won't be dragging it around every trip but it will probably come along on most if not all of our northern NV trips.

If you are talking about @excorcist 's bumper, I think he made a custom swingout. If you look in early posts on this thread you'll see it.

If you are talking about mine, it's a Brute Force Fab high clearance single swingout with flip down table. Normally you'd have a spare tire mount on the passenger side. Brute Force makes that fully adjustable for height, which leaves a nice flat surface where I mounted my hot water case. I'm not running bigger tires, so my spare still fits under the truck.

EDIT: Here it is with nothing on it.

    Hi Habitat Owners:
I'm looking at getting a used Habitat (First Generation Production). I have been jumping between the idea of replacing my ARE DCE with a Habitat or Atlas, and one popped up recently, so I may just jump on it as summer trips are fast approaching! I have a few quesitons:
-Any major differences between the original production models and the new ones? It looks like some of the latches are a bit different. Materials all pretty similar?
-Any major issues I should look for that might miss the newbie eye?
-What's the best way to fit on a 2nd gen long bed Tacoma? Remove the plastic bedside rail covers, tape the mating surface, put down foam seal, them mate the camper to the truck bed?
-What is the best way to seal the front since it is a lower gap?
-Best way to keep dust and water out?
-It looks like I could fab up some mounts to fit an awning (ARB currently on my utility shell), is it safe to drill into the panels? Or just drill into the frame/bones? Re-using the ARB will save me $1600 since I almost pulled the trigger on a 270... and 270 probably no workie on a flip-back camper

Any feedback or advice is appreciated. The current owner said ATO has been great to work with when parts need replaced, so I think I'd be in good hands if I get it!

    I

Ill answer your questions to the best of my ability but others surely know much more than I

    - Biggest differences as far as I know are the composite side panels, vs the solid aluminum, and some came with a heavier green tent.

    - Only known "major" issues as far as I know are the front lower corners near the cab cracking. Someone else had an issue with some holes from folding the tent up, a close inspection of the hab in person should make any major issues very apparent.

    - Your plan for installation sounds spot on to me. The front cargo rail needs to be removed as well. I think some tend to overthink this part, it really mounts just like a standard camper shell as far as I could tell when I reinstalled mine.

    - They had some little trim piece in the front that was different from the sides to acomodate the difference, If it would help Im sure I can get some pics.

    - I havent had any problems with dust / water intrusion, climbing under at night at night and shining a flashlight around to reveal airgaps should help mitigate it, have also heard of people using incencse sticks.

    - Mounting an awning is definitely do-able to the aluminum sides.

Did the used hab you found happen to be listed for 9k$? I recently saw one pop up for a long bed I meant to post the link in here but I will hold off if you are considering it.

Awesome, thanks is for the detailed response and help!
It was listed for 9k, and for a long bed. No pics on the CL link. Family took a look for me, I plan to inspect and purchase this weekend!

how much was the price to have them add in the Fantastic Fan? Are they throwing it in the roof hatch? I've been continually pricing out my build and ventilation is extremely crucial part for me. $800 for a roof vent/$800 for the euro windows for side access is a killer. I've been really leaning towards sider slider window with some sort of room fan and giving up on the side access for extra help with ventilation. Or no side windows with roof fan/vent. I'm totally comfortable in the cold so not to worried about keeping warm, but do camp in warmer weather and the heat inside can ruin my sleep entirely.
